Hailey's POV
I'm sitting in bed on my laptop when I heard my mom's keys slowly unlock the door. She walked in and I heard deep sobbing and I got nervous. I had only seen my mom cry twice, once when my grandpa died the other when my sister was diagnosed with leukemia. I got out of my warm bed and walked down my creaky stairs to find my mom sitting on the couch staring off into space. I asked her what was wrong and she told me, trembling in a soft voice the we would have to move across the country for her work. As first the words went through me and I didn't comprehend what she was saying. Then it hit me, we would have to leave my sister who is going to Oregon State university (and has officially been cancer free for 6 years), my friends, school...DAD. My parents divorced when my sister first got cancer because my dad said it was to much for him to handle. Although he was a dick for leaving my mom, sick sister and I. I still loved him and I couldn't imagine moving so far away from him. I told my mom everything was going to be alright and that we didn't have to move in hopes she would find a new job, but she said that at the new job in North Carolina she would make back all the money to pay Sydney's hospital bills and it would be a fresh start.
