That girl right there
With the jet black hair
She jumps into the air
To fall
Just so she can get up.
She turns to smile at me
She giggles and laughs,
She doesn't know that I'm under her spell
I smile back kindly
And wish she thought the same.
She's scarcastic, smart and funny
But why doesn't she see me as I see her?
She's compleatly and utterly oblivious.
At my jokes she always laughs,
With my smiles she always returns
The field is our place,
Our sanctuary.
She runs up and hugs me
I breathe her in
Her scent,
Her smile,
Her beauty.
Her.
I hug her back tightly,
And I do not wish to let go
Because this is where I wish to stay,
With her.
We depart, and I smile down at her
Her eyes glint with amusement
As I ask "What's so funny?"
And she answers "That you never noticed"
I stand there confused,
"Noticed what?" I say
She gets close to my ear and whispers,
"That I am in love with you".
With that she turns and runs,
I stand there and gawk
For that I never thought
That she could feel the same,
My Girl in the Grass
