I start feeling sick just looking at this place. Mount Massive Asylum, shut down amid scandal and government secrecy in 1971, reopened by Murkoff Psychiatric Systems in 2009 under the guise of a charitable organization. Cell phone reception cut off abruptly a mile out, more like a jammer than a lost signal. The Murkoff Corporation has a long track record of disguising profit as charity. But never on American soil. Whatever they thought they could get out of this place has to be big. Might finally be the story that breaks the bastards.

I brought along (Name) (Last name), a 24 year old college graduate who had sought me out by email, says she wants to become an investigative journalist. I'm taking her in as an trainee, I figured it's better to start off with someone who is already a journalist to help her start out her career. I know I would have wanted a mentor but instead I started on my own. I'll teach her the do's and don't's.

This place has an eerie vibe to it, and to be completely honest I'm kinda nervous about entering Mount Massive Asylum. I mean, who would't? I never thought I'd ever enter an insane asylum, much less to investigate it. I having second thoughts. Wait, no. I shouldn't be thinking like this. I'm lucky that Miles is taking me along to investigate the place, he even gave me some tips about being an investigative journalist.

"Seek out the truth and only the truth. It's about being sure you know what's happening so you'll report with complete honesty and expose them."

I'm grateful that I'm not alone on this, I heard that if you don't find someone to help you out then you'll have to be on your own. That itself sounds nerve-wracking because I'm not an experienced journalist yet. So, thank you Miles.

Miles said that the corporation has disguised profit as charity. I'm not entirely sure what's happening here but the whistleblower said that there's NDA stuff happening, so it must mean there's something illegal going down and we're going to expose it all.
