Chapter One

Demi's P.O.V.

Everyone knew him, the bad ass of our town. He was the kind of guy that your parents warned you about, you know, the ones they told you to stay away from, so why couldn't I? I knew he wasn't one I should want to get involved with but something told me that I could stop him from what he was doing with his life. He was rich, but all his money was dirty, it came from drugs, he sold guns and knives and any other weapons really. You'd think he'd try and keep it on the down low but no, he likes to flaunt it. The police want to stop him, but it's not easy when he's part of so many gangs. They have like little gangs but then when something happens they all become part of one gang, there's probably at least a hundred of them. They're not the type of people you just mess with. They stick together, so if you fuck with one of them, you fuck with all of them.

I was just finishing up, getting ready to close since there weren't many people in here and they would probably be leaving soon. I was just cleaning off the last side when I heard to bell ring at the door. I thought it was just one of the customers leaving but then I heard quite a few voices talking. I turned my head to see who had just entered the shop and well I was quite surprised at what I saw, but I quickly wiped the thoughts from my head and I went to wear the cash register was set up. "What can I get you guys?" I just treated them like other customers; that's what they were. Everyone was so scared of them, as I could tell by the fact that all the other the customers that were in the shop had now left. Great I'm stuck with them in here. I was snapped from my thoughts when one of the guys spoke up. "Well, I wouldn't mind you, if I'm honest." I just looked at him before laughing. "Well, I'll think you'll find my name isn't on the menu, but I'm sure you could try ordering something else." The guys just laughed, I just couldn't understand why people couldn't get on with these guys. They'll only hurt you if you fuck them over or you threaten them or something. They're not quite like the normal bad guys that go round just beating people up for the sake of it, they always have a reason.

I was pulled out of my thoughts again by the same voice. "Ah, you've got a sense of humour, I like it, but yeah, we'll just have 6 teas please" Yeah sure, you guys can go take a seat, I'll bring them over when they're done." I gave them a warm smile and the guy that spoke just nodded his head. They all went and sat down, but one kept looking back at me. I knew who he was, he was well known around this area. Okay, I say well known, what I mean is, is that everyone knows him.

When I'd finished making their teas, I put them on a tray and walked over to where they were sat. When they noticed me walking over, they all seemed to shut up straight away. That probably would've annoyed anyone else, but it didn't bother me. To be honest, the less I know the better for me. I don't need to be getting involved with them, I mean they're welcome in the coffee shop but I don't need to be hearing what they get up when they're not in here. When I got to their table, I placed the tray down; the guy that spoke looked at me and smiled a genuine smile. "Thank you beautiful" I let out a little laugh. "No problem. Um, I don't mean to sound rude, but how long are you guys planning on staying here? It's just that, it's pretty late and I've got to lock up and well yeah, you get the point." They didn't seem bothered that I'd asked the same guy spoke up again. "Well since, you're so polite and you don't seem too phased by us, we won't be here long. We'll let you get home soon." I just smiled at him and nodded my head.
