Arabella's POV
I ran as fast as I could, the wind blowing on my face and through my hair. The rough grass rubbing against my bare feet as I ran towards the road. My backpack suddenly felt light as a feather."Arabella!! Your backpack broke!" I heard Lily scream. I looked back to a trail of all my books and papers and at the end Lily stood there with a worried expression on her face.
Great, just great. I was so close to the sidewalk and from there I would be free.
Or at least feel free.I ran over to all my items in a rush to clean them up as soon as possible before they saw me leave. No, I wasn't running away I was just having an adventure... in the middle of the school day. Lily helped me grab everything but our arms were filled with books and there was still things on the ground. We weren't sure what to do.
Leave it or take it. Suddenly I saw two unrecognizable security guards heading our way. I shrugged as Lily's worried eyes found mine.
"Don't move!" the taller and more muscular security guard shouted. I stood up straight letting go of all my books.
"What are you guys doing?" Said the other security guard, a stern look on his face. I raised my eyebrow while looking at Lily, who was shaking.
"Well you see, I believe that we deserve freedom rather than being locked up all day. So I ran away in hopes that nobody would catch me. This whole world is full of oblivious people who don't care about anyone no matter how much they try to convince you that. Anyways it was my idea so I can take the blame but we'll me on our way back to school now." I said as Lily and I started to walk towards the school.
Both the security guards stood in front of us and held out their hands in front of us.
"Both of you to the principles offices... now!" We walked towards the school. Lily was watching her feet as they walked against the soft grass. As we entered the school I put my shoes back on and fixed myself up before walking with Lily to principals office, the two security guards following behind.
After explaining my whole story to the principle he decided that I should have detention for 3 weeks. I wasn't suspended because I decided to go straight to the principles office rather than refusing, but that didn't mean detention wasn't terrible.
Detention was where all the popular-no life-fuckboy-jocks go. But this time I was going to be in detention. With who? I have no clue.
