My eyes shot opened but i wasn't in the forest, no i could tell by the red and black walls that i was home.. in my bed room to be exact. PUshing the covers from my body i stood from the bed seeing i was in my cheetah print footie pajamas. walking to the door and out into the hall way, i heard loud sobbing, walikng past the bathroom and the guess romm i stoped at a door that said Lilly in big purple swirly letters. without knocking i turned the knob pushing the door opened.
" Lil?" i called.
she was sat up in her bed back to the wall knees to her chest, she looked up at me tear soaked face.
" Vicki? is that you?"
" It's me Lil, why are you crying?"
" You've been missing for almost a year vicki, why wouldn't i cry, im never going to see you again"
i closed the distanced between us sitting on her bed and bring her head into my lap. " don't worry about that Lilly, im here now and i'll be here everytime you close you eyes i swear."
" Dreams are never as good as real life Vicki,"
" I know their not but it's all we have in the end"
" Why can't you just come home vick?"
" I would love to come home Lil but i can't ... i can never come home again"
" Are you dead?"
" Yes, but it's ok"
I hated lying to her but it was better than the truth.
fresh sobs broke from her throte " shhh, shhh, stop crying i told you i'll be here everytime you close your eyes, i promise to wait at the light for you ok"
" you promise not to go into the light with out me?"
" Yeah i promise"
" I miss you a lot vick"
" I miss you too Lil, but i need you to be strong and not shut down ok"
" i'll try but shutting down is how i deal with the pain "
" i know Lil, i know but my will worry if you start shutting people out and she's already lost one child don't make her feel like she's lost the other as well"
" I'm going to try, but it hurts so bad"
" Think of it this way you'll have something the others won't, you'll get to see an talk to me every time you close your eyes, i'll chase the bad dreams away"
" I love you vicki"

" vicki can we sing the sister song?"
The sister song is a song my mom used to make us sing to eachother when every we fought " yeah lets sing the sister song"
