I was so excited about the upcoming night. I had just turned 17, and my parents allowed me to throw a party. I practically skipped on my way to tell my neighbor about the party-so she would be prepared to see the cars in my driveway. It was a peaceful day. The sun was shining brightly and the temperature was perfect. I could see the beautiful spring flowers and smell their sweet scent as I walked by them. It wasn't until I got all the way down my neighbors driveway, that I started to feel like I was no longer alone.

I could hear footsteps lagging behind me. I would take a step and then half a second after my foot hit the ground, theirs did. From the corner of my eye I could see a distant shadow. The shadow was a lot larger than mine, and was of the male shape. The hairs on my neck stood up. I had chills run down my back. I could feel his eyes on me and they burned holes in the back of my head. I tried to have courage and turn around but I couldn't. I ended up reaching into my front pocket for my phone and pretended to call my friend and talk to her until I was at my driveway. Then I grabbed my car keys and set off the alarm.

I guess that was enough for they guy to run away without being noticed, but it still made me feel unsafe. I called my best friend, Alice, and had her come over to help set-up. I didn't want her to think I was crazy so I didn't tell her what happened.

The other girls got to my house about an hour after Alice came over to set up. The decorations were perfect and the food tasted delicious. We mostly played club remixes and watched movies, but around midnight we decided to play hide-in-seek outside in the dark. The party was going so well, I had completely forgotten about the incident that had happened earlier.

I was stuck being the first counter. Counting all the way to 100 felt like forever, and when I finished I noticed how dark it was. I could barely see the sides of the house, but I used my hand to lead me around it. I finally noticed a human shadow and immediately went for it. I shoved the person hard and screamed at the top of my lungs "you're it." I was surprised to notice that my 'friend' felt hard as a rock, instead of 'her' going off to find the other girls.. 'she' stepped forward and I realized they weren't a girl or my friend. HE was a guy. THE guy. The same guy that stocked me home. He grabbed me. His hand gripped my arm hard and I could feel the bruise being left on my skin. Fear traveled up my throat and I tried to scream. The sound wouldn't come out and I was frozen in fear. It felt like eternity until I could finally open my mouth enough to let out a blood curling scream.

My friends came running, but when they reached me - HE WAS GONE!! Their questions packed my head tightly. I tried to listen, but my mind was still lost in the situation. I went over their questions and searched for the answers, but none came and I fell into a long lost confusion. Who was the guy? What did he want? I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to say. So I decided to tell no-one about this mystery-man until I decided what to do about him.

" Sorry, I thought I saw a snake" I told my friends
