My mum's being trying to get me to meet our new neighbors, you know, socialize, but I most certainly will NOT.
Not after they made me come here... Aaarghhh!!!
'Hali, I'm going to meet Tiana..do you wanna come?' mum asks me as I nibble on my popcorn and force myself to watch Don of Justice.
'No.' I mutter.
'Oh come on, Halimah! It'll be fun!'
Then why are you still here disturbing my life?' I yell. Before I know it, Mum is dragging me to our next door neighbor's place while I'm screaming and kicking.
'Behave yourself Halimah! You're sixteen for goodness sake!' she whispers as she presses the door bell.
I cross my arms and sulk.
Before long, the door opens and a middle aged woman opens it and welcomes my mum like they've been friends since forever.Come to think of it, I may not be too wrong...
'Is this your daughter?' the woman asks.
'Yes, I wanted her to meet yours.. Is that okay with you?' mum asks.
'Why of course!' the woman says, and runs up the stairs.Yes, RUNS.
I'd kill to see Mum run.
Ha!A minute later, she comes down, and behind her is some girl, probably my age. She has black, silky long hair with purple steaks. She's also wearing a crop top that says CHIC and ripped jeans.
'Hey.' she says bluntly.'HI.. 'I say.
_______________________________________________________________________Ever since that day, Melody (the girl) and I have been hanging out. I gotta say, thanks mom!
So Melody's Goth and all, but when she's not with her best friends, she totally down to earth. The only bad thing about her is her dressing and secret lifestyle which her parents obviously don't know about seeing they seem to think she's absolutely good.
Yeah, right guess again.
Anyway, she invited me to this party at her friend's place. It was a night party, the type that started around eight and finished at who-knows-when.
Of course my parents would disagree, so I told them I was going to Melody's place for a sleepover.
'Are they here yet?' Melody asks, fixing her eyeliner.
'Who?' I ask, looking up from my phone.
'My friends. ' Meldody replies, dramatically rolling her eyes.I look out of her window. 'Nope.'
It's fifteen to seven, and we're in Melody's room, waiting for her friends Rick, Johnny and Sophie to arrive to pick us up.'Yes!' Melody cries getting up, finally done. 'How'd I look?'
I stare at her. She's wearing another crop tee that says SHIT. The cleavage area is net which exposes her cleavage a little too much. She's wearing high waisted shorts and a pair of Jordans.
'Cool.'
'Great!' she says and picks up her phone to text someone.
probably one of her friends. After some time, we hear a car pull up and footsteps. Soon enough, a girl enters the room and I'm guessing she's Sophie.
I stare in awe.Sophie has on a crop that can pass as a bra and high waisted shorts, the type that curve at the back so u can slightly see her bum (ew) and a pair of trainers.
Her make up isn't as heavy as Melody's, but still speaks true Goth.
'Are u ready Mel?' she says, then she sees me and drops her jaw.
'What?'I say nervously.
Melody whacks her with a magazine playfully. 'It's rude to stare dummy!' -
'Yeah but look what she has on!' Sophie says, pointing at me.Melody looks, but- seeing nothing wrong shrugs with a smile.
'We are going to- Jack Haver's party Mel! She can't go dressing like some slob!'
'
Hey!' I yell offensively.
Melody gives me a weak smile. 'It's true hon.'
'Quick, let's fix her!' Sophie says, dashing into Melody's closet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------About twenty minutes later, I am sitting alone on a bleacher at the party. I'm dressed in a short flare dress and black Timberlands.
There are teenagers everywhere, age rank approximately fifteen to nineteen, all dressed inappropriately for words and doing all sorts.
It's so freezing cold! How can they manage to dress this way?
I sip from my punch again, my head low. I just wanna go home! And by HOME, I mean Ohio.'Hey!' someone yells behind me. 'Aren't you gonna dance?'
'Go away!' I yell back, not bothering to look back.
That's when I feel a hand on my shoulder.
'That's no way to talk to the birthday boy.' He says, smiling. He has sandy blonde hair and deep blue eyes. His smile is so charming and...SNAP OUT OF IT!!!!
'I'm Jack..you are?'
'I'm Halimah.. ' I manage to say.
'Well Halimah, you are one pretty girl.'
No need to be rude or anything, but that's cheesy and common..
Sheesh
'Do you want to dance?' he continues, 'or we could just hand around and chat, seeing that's your way of partying.'
I laugh. 'No, not really.'
'Great, do you want anything?' Jack asks, then adds, 'Do you drink?'I never drink, like never. Back in Ohio, Ramon and Susan never bought alcohol so no.
'Yeah.' I lie.
'Cool.' he pours out a glass of Vodka for me.
'How old are you anyway?' I ask.
'Sixteen, you?'
'Same,' I say as I finish my Vodka.Jack smiles slyly. 'They're playing seven minutes in heaven.. Wanna play?'
SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN??
What the heck is that?
'Uh, yeah, sure.'Jack leads me inside his gigantic house filled with even more people than outside.
We climb up the stairs, passing more than fifteen people making out.Ew.
Then we get to this door, well, people are lining up actually.
'People be patient!' someone yells from the front. She's holding a big transparent box filled with bucks.
'That's my sister, Jenna,' Jack explains. 'We can cut in line pretty easily.'As we pass, we hear people oohing and making kissing noises.
Am quite confused, I mean it's just a game people!
'Ooh Jack!' Jenna says, looking at me weird, 'Who's she?'
'Halimah..
'New girl?'
'Yeah but you better keep away from her!' Jack yells as he leads me into the room.
'Why? Is she a bully?' I ask.
'Nah, she's les. ' he says nonchalantly.
'Les?!' I yell and he laughs and nods his head.
Woah.
'So... What do you want to do?'
'Huh?' I say.
'Our seven minutes!' he cries.
'Oh uh..' I clear my throat. 'Anything.'
