"Frisk?"
Silence.Everything hurt. My arms felt like gigantic weights slowly sinking me into... whatever I was lying on. My legs ached and just thinking about moving them made me want to cry. Which was dumb, of course. I don't cry. Opening my eyelids, and struggling to keep them open, drained me of my energy. I felt lightheaded and almost sick. Yet... a strange feeling coursed through my veins. Slowly sitting up, I gazed to the side.
Frisk was in one piece, which was good. I crawled over and shook their shoulder slightly. They groaned and hugged their knees. I wiped some dirt and leaves out of my bangs, which clumsily hung in front of my eyes.
"Frisk? You okay?" They rolled over, looking pale and bruised. Their eyes slowly flit open. Tears falling helped clear some of the dirt from their face. They waved limply, their eyes falling. They looked peaceful, sitting there in the patch of flowers with their arm cradling themselves like they were going to take a nap. I wasn't going to allow that, obviously.
"Nope. Not on my watch," I said, helping Frisk stand. Based on how they shook and wouldn't let their foot fully touch the ground, I could see their ankle was broken. "Oh, no. C'mon, there's gotta be someone down here." Exhaling angrily, I helped Frisk forward. They looked confused. "What? Yeah, people. I know it." Frisk blinked, and slowly held their palm to my head. "Don't look at me like I'm crazy. That's why we fell down here. There's somethin' down here for us." I yanked Frisk forward, and I saw them wince. "Ah, I'm sorry! I just..." They shook their head, as if saying it's okay, I know you didn't mean to.
That happened with us - they didn't speak, yet I knew what they said. I almost was their voice, their (rare) anger and frustration - and they were there to calm me. They, however, were my fear and tears - everything in the world that made my knees buckle and sob. However, nothing has made me happier. They rely on me. My pride spiked up - they rely on me. I smiled, and gazed at them as they clung to my side. My 'little sibling,' if you will. However, my smile faded a bit as I noticed I relied on them too. That's... just how it was with us.
I beat up those who picked on Frisk (despite Frisk's protest) and they reassured me late at night that I was a person, I had meaning, I was going somewhere in life, someone loves me, etc. We just had always been there for one another. Whether it was at our school or down in some dirt pile, we'd be there for one another. I beamed, felt new strength grow within me, and helped carry Frisk forward. That was good, as they grew weaker and weaker by the moment.
"Frisk? You okay?" I murmured. They replied with a soft mmmgh. I shook my head, but suddenly noticed something standing out in the gloom of the area. "There's... something in the distance?" I pulled Frisk forward yet again and examined the base. So there was something down here! It stood towering and dusty, much taller than I, colored a faded and chipped purple. At the base of the two pillars grew small tufts of grass and vines. "Do you wanna rest?" I offered. Frisk, gladly accepting my offer, collapsed to the ground and seemed to fall asleep almost instantly.
"Do what you want, then." I rolled my eyes and sat next to them. Why was there an entryway here? Was someone here before us? Is someone here now? I shifted, suddenly uncomfortable. The idea of someone down here suddenly made me a tad nervous. Frisk slept soundly next to me, worriless even as we sat in the dark at the bottom of a mountain that may or may not have people here. I let my eyes close, if just a bit. The truth was, I was exhausted. My body ached and everything stung. I frowned, and shot one more accusatory look at the purple structure, before drifting off again.

I woke up at peace later. I would have continued to sleep soundly (although it felt like I only slept 10 minutes) had I not been awoken by the soft, calm voice of a woman I didn't recognize.
"Are you all right?" She asked. I gazed up at the figure of the woman above me, wearing a flowy, violet dress with a strange pattern on it. I gasped when I saw where she was (right in front of us,) and what she was doing (staring at us with such a worried expression you would have thought we'd died or something,) but when saw what she was I screamed.
