It's Time

 I slowly open the car door and take a step out into the cold air of Alaska. I slowly took in a breath, even though I am no longer human it's an old habit I haven't lost. I couldn't understand why I was so nervous about being in a new place. Maybe it was the realization that I was no longer in Alaska, my second home. My memories have stayed in Alaska and will remain there until I return.  I look around, allowing myself to take it all in and try to imagine my new life here. I imagine living in my own home with Renesmee and Edward and I can't help but smile. 

  "Welcome to our new home..." Edward whispered in my ear. Despite my nerves about Portland, those words coming from him sounded so right and I can't help letting go of all my worries and enjoying the fresh new start. I smile and turn toward the house trying to take in everything about it. All the green leaves, the moss growing on the trees and every surface available, every little detail it was just so breathtaking. There was very light rain which didn't disturb me at all and the trees were such a rich green color and so full of leaves it couldn't have looked any  better. I could hear the droplets of water land on the leaves and roll onto the ground.

  I made my way to the door, I couldn't seem to hear or see anyone else except for what was in front of me... I walk in to the house and I know that even though all the moving around isn't really my thing, this start here, will be amazing.

      Edward's P.O.V.

 I watch Bella walk in, and see her take in what our new lives have for us. Everyone else starts going inside and I follow. This house has been here for a while and is already furnished and all that is needed is to remove the white sheets and dust a little. I use this time to take my Bella somewhere special, while everyone gets the house cleaned. Alice looks at me and smiles, 'She will love it! I know she will, Edward. And don't worry we won't bother you', her thoughts make me chuckle and I catch her winking at me. I chuckle, Oh Alice...I take Bella's hand in mind and she looks at me with curious eyes and I look at the door and she knows we are leaving. I guide her out of the house and hold her in my arms and we make our way towards the woods.

  About five minutes in the walk I turn to her, "Love, close your eyes."

  She frowns and asks, "Why?"

  I chuckle again, "Love, don't you trust me?" she nods. "Then do as I say, I promise it's nothing bad..there is just something I want to show you." She sighs and does as I say and we slowly continue walking ahead. Looking ahead, I can see what I am looking for and I smile, this will be our place.

  "Edward, what is this about?" I smile at her impatience and kiss her cheek. I halt and look around to what is now going to be ours only. 

  "Open your eyes, Love"

The sun was shining, she stopped at the edge of the trees branches before stepping into the sunlight and I watched as the sun reflected off her skin. I then stepped out into the sun and she watched me and smiled. The sun reflecting off our skin like a million tiny diamond faucets, it looked rather natural on Bella. Like she was made for this world...my world...our world.

  I took her hand into mine, and we sat on the grass. It was at this moment that I fully took in the view in front of me. In earlier years, I had found a clearing, that reminded me of our meadow back in Forks. Except, in this clearing, there was a lake that had a breathtaking view of the sunset and the mountains that would soon hide it away from us. The clearing has many wildflowers and gave a sense of serenity.
