Taylor's Pov
*Beep, beep, beep*"Where the hell am I?" I couldn't move any part of my body. Slowly, I looked down and started crying. It was then that I realized no tears were coming out of my eyes. This only made me want to cry harder. They had removed my tear glands,"Great" I whispered to myself,"I'm in a full body cast, I can't cry, and I don't know how my parents are doing." I glanced down at the side of the bed and I saw a nurse button and a doctor button. I pressed the doctor button and a man in a light blue or turquoise(I couldn't tell) coat rushed in. He stared at me for about two seconds, stuck his head out the door and yelled,"I need the doctor responsible for the comma patient in room eight! She's up!"
I blinked, almost like I was in a daze before a bright light was being shined in my eyes. I shut my eyes tightly before a warm, soothing voice said," I'm sorry Taylor, I just wanted to make sure you were responsive... there's something I need to tell you." my head was running wild and then it stopped. There was only one thing that could have gone wrong,"Taylor" there it is again, he hesitated,"Your parents" my eyes were filled with dread realizing what her was about to say,"Your parents... they didn't make it. We did everything we could... I'm so sorry, I should have done more." I was about to start screaming at him. About how my parents would still be alive if he did all he could, but I saw to much guilt there so instead I did something out of character,"I know I'm in a full body cast... but I would really like a hug." He looked somewhat surprised, but he stood up and half-walked, half-jogged over to me from across the room and wrapped his arms around me. We stayed that way for a minute or so until I was back to good old me,"Soooo not to ruin the moment or anything, but how long am I going to be in this cast and what will happen to me after I'm free?" The doctor was about to respond when I cut him off,"and what should I call you? Just Doctor, or do you have a last name?" He chuckled to himself, sighed, and then replied,"You can call me Dr. Mallard, Doctor, or Jason. Whichever you prefer. It will be a couple months before you get to take to cast off, and a couple more months to rehabilitate your muscles... so about eight months. We will figure out where you're going after your better when we get there." I was silent for a moment,"Ok Jason. Just promise me one thing." He sat for a moment before realizing it was his turn to say something," Sure, I'll do my best." This time it was me who hesitated before replying,"Could you come see me every day? It doesn't have to be during the day, just a few minutes or a check-up or something." I saw his lips form a small smile which made me smile in return,"Of course Taylor, it would be my pleasure."
-Ten Months Later
"Morning Taylor." I groggily woke up and smiled,"Morning Jason" I let my head fall back down on the pillow before standing up,"How are you feeling today? Sore after the mile we had you run yesterday?" I grunted in reply as my calves started to ache,"I'll take that as a yes. Also I have some news, it's up to you to be good or bad but, we're releasing you from the hospital this afternoon." I was shocked. I wanted to cry, but I also wanted to leap for joy, I also felt like the best option would be to just sit there, but I didn't do any of those things. Instead I walked over to him and gave him a hug. During that hug, I did something I wasn't used to. I cried(more like I made whimpering sounds because of the whole thing with my tear glands).
I was shocked, I didn't want to leave, but I had to! Jason was always so nice to me, he was kind of like a father to me... daddy... it was my fault they died, both of them... I wish I had just agreed to go to the award ceremony... then none of this would have happened. I almost started crying, but instead, I looked up at Jason and smiled. I held my phone out to him(which had only been slightly damaged in the car accident) and said,"Do you think you could put your information in my contacts? I would like for us to stay in touch." He gave me a soft smile and put his contact info in my phone:
Jason
Mallard
Doctor

I stared at his e-mail for one second and then burst out laughing," I get that you are a 'Doc', but seriously?!?! 'SupDoc?!?!" He began to giggle as well in this weird, manly, somewhat odd tone. Once we both calmed down, I looked at him fondly, taking in all of the little things about him, his posture, his facial structure, the way he stood, the way he pronunciated his words, every single little detail. I stood up with my shoulders back and half ran, half jogged to Jason and Gave him a bear hug. He tousled my short hair and said,"You act like we're never going to see each other again!" I looked up at him with a worried look on my face,"Don't worry Taylor, we can still hang out when I get out of work. There's a coffee shop we can go to, it's right down the street." I silently nodded,"Hey Jason?" He glanced down at me,"Yes?" I felt nervous for a second,"Do you think you could take me back to my house? There are some things that I want to grab." He smiled thoughtfully at me and nodded,"Of course, whatever you need."

Hey you guys! This is the beginning to a new book I'm starting called "Running Blue" (but you already knew that). I have big plans for this book and I hope that I get lots of encouragement while writing.
I would appreciate tips or suggestions to make the story better and and also to keep the comments positive. I don't want comments like,"Your book sucks" or,"why are you even writing". I might stop writing if something like that becomes a common occurrence.
I will try to have at least one update every week, but it depends on the amount of homework I have. Most updates will be on Sundays, maybe sooner, again, it depends on my schedule.
Later sweeties!
