Happy. Everyone was happy. I was sitting by the pool, reading my book. I looked up and saw my boys playing and laughing with their dad. I honestly couldn't believe how lucky I was. To be on this holiday in this newly built resort felt so fantastic. My husband has a good job and I'm a stay at home mum until I decided to go back to work. My eldest boy Luca is in secondary school and my two youngest (Thomas and Simon) are in primary school.
Suddenly, I felt a little gush of wind. Nothing much but it did blow one of my pages out of the book I was reading. I didn't think much of it and went to collect my page and admire the beautiful scenery.
I felt the ground shake a little bit. Now I was starting to get a bit worried. I heard a smoothie machine suddenly turn off at the bar to my right. The electricity was cut off.
I started to get seriously worried now. I looked around with a puzzled expression on my face and saw other people looking round too.
Multiple groups of birds started to fly in towards land squawking and screaming to find safety.
The ground started to shake more and more and I could hear faint screams in the distance.
My whole life flashed before my eyes and when I came back to reality I could see a giant wave.
"Tsunami" I muttered under my breath quietly.
I looked into my husbands eyes and shouted his name. The wave was getting closer bringing everything in its path, time was running out. "Henry!" "Henry the boys!" The wave took him and my two youngest down. Luca had a sheer look of panic on his face and I wanted to hug him so tight. But I couldn't.
The wave had got me too.
