Meanwhile on the outside… A storm rages, as if trying to hide a great deceitful act. Like something coming in to the world that shouldn’t be… or should it.
‘One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl…
‘A girl… is that what I am, that’s what he told me I was. He disappeared over three months ago, last thing he said to me was ‘Get out when you can!’
Well here I am…
Four for a boy, five for silver…
‘Silver… just like his hair and the way it fell over his eyes, just a little.’
Six for gold…
‘Like his eyes… wonder if he was created in a lab as well? He was the most kind-hearted man to me, I remember what he did for me, even if he has forgotten…even if he is still alive.’
Seven for a secret never to be told…
‘That’s where I disagree…the world will know what I have to say, no matter what they try and do to me, they won’t get away with it.’
‘Shit, need to find somewhere and quick, before this storm ends and they get a lock on my transmitter signal.’
Stepping out of the labyrinth of small streets and alleyways, she sees an abandoned building. Noticing that there is only one way in apart from the roof she heads for it.
‘Ah, perfect this should to the trick…’
‘Looks like no one been here for ages, that’s good no unexpected visits but still need to find away to scramble the transmitter signal.’
‘There has to be something… perfect this should do the trick. Still I really need to get this thing out of me but I can’t cut it out myself, shit guess I really do need to find him after all, but where to start looking?
Well that will just have to wait till morning, can’t do much now I need to rest fighting my way out of that place took a lot out of me.’
She drifts of into a night of fit-full sleep…her dreams carry with them the memory of experimentation, ruthlessness and all the pain of being alone.
Elsewhere in the City State of Remus…There is another person that can’t sleep in the heat of the city someone that is about to become big part of her life.
‘Still don’t know how my life came to this, Shit, why dose God always fuck over the little people. Still guess it could be worse at least got a nice safety net if any of those dick heads realise the truth and come looking.’
‘Ha, ha, ha I am just being paranoid I covered my tracks well enough that even my own family would believe it… if any of them was still alive that is. Shit now I’m depressed well nothing for it then, might as well go out and see what the night brings.’
Leaves his apartment and enters the labyrinth of streets.
‘How many times have I walked down this street, how many times have I seen the same face’s heard the same convocations, drank at the same bars and had the same night encounters with the same girls. Just for once I would love to have something shake up what passes for a live in this Godforsaken city.’
‘Well guess it’s time for a drink and get back to a meaningless existence.’
He enters a bar with a heavy smoke fill atmosphere and is greeted by a large man with rolled up sleeves, leaning on the end of the bar.
‘Can’t sleep again, eh Silver?’
‘How’d you guess Nade?’
‘You always come to this dive when you can’t sleep!, not that I’m complaining though, you always spend a pretty penny’
‘Nice to know my money’s always welcome… Thanks Nade… What’s the good word?’
‘The beat from the underground is that the RPC say that they are all about peace but word is, is that they are more for enforcing it. They have these special soldiers see, that go in and obliterate resistance’
‘Don’t tell me you believe all that bullshit Nade?! Ha, ha, ha’
‘Well normally I wouldn’t but word is that one of these soldiers went rouge and blew half of the Corp up!’
‘Well I just see it as hearsay! *finishes drink in one gulp*
‘Well I’m off Nade, enjoy your night’
Silver turns to walk out the bar and is stopped by Fortuna, an attractive women with long flowing hair that always her eye on Silver’s bed.
‘Hey Silver, you going already?’
‘Yeah there’s someone I need to meet up with’
‘Is she pretty?’
‘What you mean by that?!’
‘Well you never take me to your bed, but you take others!?’
‘That’s not true… I never take anyone to my bed… anyway gotta go… Wish me luck Fortuna’
‘Good luck Silver… for whatever it is your gonna do’
Leaving the bar Silver sees an armoured jeep drive by and quickly turns to follow it.
Meanwhile back at the abandoned building in the slums she is woken up by a feeling of dread as she gazes out of the blacked window she sees the Romulus enforcement officers amassing.
‘Shit these creeps are like cockroaches. At least I know they haven’t got a clear lock on the transmitter signal, they would be right on my ass, but still need to get clear from here. Need to change my clothes then might be able to pass off as a civilian.’
She looks around the abandoned apartment she is hiding in and finds a change of clothes. After, she leaves the building she passes by the first two enforcement officers unnoticed but as she turns into an alleyway she walks straight into the path of three more and gets stopped.
