Chapter 1

I walked around Gold in a circle,my claws unsheathed and my gem glowing. Gold bared his teeth and smiled mischievously. He leapt and I didn't react,because it took me by surprise. The impact made me stumble,but not fall. I summoned my weapon and swung it at him. The blade made of powerful emerald hit him full on. He flinched,but flew up. He flapped his wings in front of his face and blew the wind towards me. I dug my deep green claws made of emerald into the ground,to keep myself from falling. He dove at me,his claws aiming for my face. "Ok,gem. Protect me!" I

hissed,commanding my emerald gem to summon a shield. It glowed and was protecting me from Gold,who would've scratched my face by now. Instead he hit the shield and fell to the ground. My shield disappeared and I racked my claws over his ear. He hissed in pain, then shook it off ,and jumped to his paws. He swiped at me,fury blazing in his blue eyes like fire. I ducked and bit his fore-paw. He jumped onto my back as I was crouched on the dusty floor. He bit down on my tail. "Oh! You're gonna get it now!" I hissed. a tiny bit. I rolled over on my back,that caused Gold to be crushed "ooff! O-ok! G-g-g-get off!" He half mewed half muttered. I smiled and got off him,gladly,just because he begged. "Happy now?" I retorted. He twitched his ear and rolled his eyes. "Great job! You are both worthy of this..." Green mewed as she handed us a bronze medal. 'My first medal at this academy!' I thought. 'And Ruby nor Red has one medal yet!' She handed us the medals. I placed it around my neck and smiled. "Now get to lunch." Green mewed,politely. I nodded and trotted next to Gold.

We passed Ruby and Red,the next two to train against each other. "Don't think you're that special...because I'll have a medal after this assignment!" Ruby whispered as we passed by. I hissed at her and walked on. "Hey,Emerald...do you have milk money I could use?" Gold asked "Sure. $10 is all though." I answered. "That'll get me through 3 days." He mewed. We walked into the cafeteria,and saw students,trainers,and even Moonstone,the health official. I placed the $10 in Golds paw. "Go get some milk!" I mewed. He smiled and walked off. 'I'll look for a table...' I thought. I looked around and found an empty clean table off in the corner.

I trotted over and sat down. "Alright I'm hungry." I mewed quietly. My lunch appeared hovering inches away from my nose. It stopped floating and fell on the table in front of me. I opened it and the brown paper bag crumbled as I opened it. All there was in was,a BLT,orange juice,cookies,and a...cooked salmon! I pulled the salmon out and gobbled it up,faster than the speed of light. Gold sat down next to me and chuckled. "Your lunch looks better than mine." I glanced at his tray. Small cooked fish,milk,raspberries,and a cookie. "Give me the raspberries." I mewed as I held out my paw. "Nooooo! All mine!" Gold mewed in a playful tone "If you want give...than I'll take!" I hissed,playfully and swiftly grabbed a raspberry.

'' Oh no! My baby child,Bobby!" Gold joked. I laughed and opened my mouth,and hung the raspberry oven my open mouth,ready to drop him in. "No give him back,please!" Gold mewed in a high-pitched voice,making him sound like a lady. "Never!" I hissed and dropped it in my mouth. I chewed it up and swallowed. "Noooooooo!" Gold mewed. We laughed so hard,that Gold fell out of his chair. That made us laugh harder. I helped him up,but that was hard,considering I was still laughing. He sat down a plopped a raspberry into his mouth. I started eating my BLT.

"So we'll have a project! Listening closely!" Dark mewed. "The trainers and I have decided to see with fusions are the best!" My ears pricked at the sound of that. "You will all choose one partner,and come up with a special dance in order to fuse. No dirty dancing!" Dark continued. 'Alright! But who will I choose...?' I thought. "Hmm... Wonder who will choose me." Gold whispered to himself. "Hey Emerald! Do you want to try?" Red asked,her ruby gem shimmering in the sunshine.

"Well...how about we all meet at my house,and when two of us fuse we'll make our other friends fuse then we'll battle!" I asked. "Ok...but who's 'we'?" Red mewed,blankly. "Oh... You,Gold,Crystal,and I!" I mewed. "Wait...me?!" Gold mewed,surprised. "Mhm! You!" I mewed,happily. "C-can Lapis and Titanium come too? So I'm not the only guy there?"  'Oh! I didn't know he felt that way! What was I thinking?' I thought in shame. " Yeah,Sure!" I mewed trying not to sound awkward. "Ok I'll go get them!" Red mewed and trotted away. 

It was a long day of training and now we gathered up all the testing dummies and equipment we trained on. I used my psychic powers to lift up a wooden testing dummy and toss it into the storage room. I turned around and saw Gold flying then ,swoop, and dive toward a testing dummy. He swung his gold weapon at the 'enemy' and sliced it in half. He gasped and his weapon disappeared. "Good job,Gold!" Rosterite mewed "Its ok if you broke it,but you still did good!" Gold smiled in relief,knowing he wasn't in trouble. Rosterite snapped and the broken dummy disappeared. Rosterite walked away,that was my chance! I trotted over to Gold and mewed,"Lapis and Titanium are joining us too! So let's go!" He rolled his eyes at me. "Ok. You can fly right?" He asked.

"Of course!" I mewed. "Ok let's fly!" As I said that deep green wings grew on my back. "Alright! Here we go!" Gold mewed and took flight. I followed him,my wings beating the air. I looked down and saw cats leaving the academy. They looked like colorful ants scurrying around. Boom boom. Thunder was sounding above our heads. All the cats ran,a few cats side by side trying to get home. "Rain storm! We can't fly out here!" Gold yowled over the noise. He was wet and his bobbed tail was trembling,like it does when he's scared. "If we fly we'll get there faster!" I yowled back.

The wind was getting stronger and the rain was falling harder. "Look out!" Gold yowled. Lightning struck my wing and I rocked wildly. I was falling quickly toward the earth. I wouldn't die I would just be hurt badly and not be able to train. I closed my eyes but someone or something caught me in mid air. It was Gold! "I told you not to fly in this storm!" He hissed and carried me on his back. "Thanks. Thanks a lot."
