------3 years after my last chapter
"Taesa please hold Lyanna and Lyonel" sighed Alara. Taesa took the children. They were 2 years old and wouldn't stop screaming. It was tiring but she got help. But she didn't have Robert. He had died the day the babies were born. He held them and cried and that night while he looked out at Kings Landing he died peacefully. Content. She wanted to be mad at him for leaving but it was his time. Her sons were becoming of age, nearly 13 and she was capable of running a kingdom. But her world was in peril. Daenerys Targeryon was close, too close for comfort. She couldn't trust this women to spare her children, so she had to make the decision.
"Come children" she said and they came towards her. "I love you all" she cried. "And I do not want to do this, but it is too keep you safe. Daenerys Targeryon is a month away and she will burn this city. She will claim it. Perhaps we will defeat her, but I can't take the risk."
She ushered her eldest, Rowan, to her.
"You are like your father" she smiled. "You are strong and smart. You would make an amazing King. It is your birthright and I will stop at nothing to claim it for you." She revealed a large wooden box and handed it to her son.
"Your father had this made for your thirteenth name day, but I fear we may not spend it together."
Rowan opened the box to reveal a war hammer, a miniature version of his fathers.
"Thank you" he said and kissed her cheek.
"Rowan, you will travel with Lyanna and Ser Aerys Oakheart to Winterfell. It is best."
She hugged her son and handed him Lyanna.
"I will keep her safe" he promised as he was taken out of the door.
"Robyn and Staffon." she said and her young sons came to her. They were close, and she decided to keep them together.
"You will got to High Garden to your Aunt Sansa. She has 3 children, and I feel you will be happy there. Remember, Mother Loves you.
I will think of you everyday."
Her sons nodded and hugged her. She felt warm tears run down her back.
"Now go" she smiled and they went off with Loras Tyrell, the brother of her sisters husband.
"Cassie" she smiled and her daughter cam to her. "I love you. You are my warrior princess, and you must stay strong." Cassara Nodded.
"You will got the the Eyrie with your Great Aunt, and marry her son. The age difference is not too large. You will be lady of the eyrie" Cassie nodded and went off with a Knight of the Gates of the Moon.
Taesa handed her Lyonel. She kissed the babies. forehead and told him she loved him. She gave him too a Tully Knight. He would go too Riverrun. He would take on the name Lorcan Tully, son of Edmure Tully. But she had instructed her uncle to make sure he never forgets who he is.
"Kaine" she smiled. Her long, lanky son came towards her. He looked nothing like Robert, but the maesters say that he was like Rhaegar Targeryon when he was a boy. Odd, thought Alara, but she loved her son.
"Yes mother" he asked, his long lashes dripping tears.
"Your uncle Renly adores you, which is why I am sending you to Storms End. Lord Barristan shall escort you." She hugged her son, and pressed a small box in his hand. He opened it and found a valyrian Steele knife.
He smiled and went on his way. She now felt alone.
---------1 month later
The room was filled with despair. Noble ladies crying and clutching her children. All asked where hers where. She told them they were fighting. Fighting for this dynasty. As queen she was entitled to make a speech. And she did. She told them to stay strong, to fight for what they felt was true and just. They prayed as well.
They prayed for her son Rowan, they prayed for their soldiers and their family. They prayed for victory.
A golden cloak burst through the doors. Beric Dondarrion. He came to Alara.
"My queen" he said. "We are losing. They shall be through soon. We need to go. I will keep you safe."
He held out his hand. She did not take it.
"I must stay" she said. "This is my city. I am queen. I should not run."
He nodded. "Shall I stay?" he asked.
She knew that Beric had always loved her. He was her sworn guard, he knew everything of her personal life. And she knew he loved her by the way he would blush when she teased him or the way he would tense up when she put a hand on him. She didn't love him, no, but she needed something to ease the pain of losing Robert. So instead of standing outside the door, he would come in. She would have to order moon tea after of course. Beric was handsome, tall and strong and without wife or child. If she could marry anyone she wanted,  she would marry him. He was like a young Robert.
"Yes" she said. "I need two guards. Not too fight. Just for appearances. Go find ser Barriston." He nodded and hurried off. She took a sip of water.
"Wine my lady?" asked a maid.
"No" she answered. "I need my wits about me."
Ser Beric came back quickly with Ser Barriston.
"My Queen" they panted. "They are through. Many sells words and unsullied. And the dragons. The queen is said to be coming soon.
She nodded. The other ladies started crying. She grabbed onto Desmeras hand.
"You come with me. Always" she said. Desmera nodded and put a hand on her belly. She could see the worry in her eyes. Bran was fighting. She told him not to worry for Desmera. The Targeryon queen believed the Redwynes would rise for her, and killing their only daughter would not help. Bram was another matter, but he had already gathered one child with Desmera, a girl called Madlyn who was reaching her 1st name day, and would celebrate with her mothers family at the Arbor.
Bran burst through the doors with 12 Knights.
"We have surrendered" he panted. "It is too much. The fire..So much. We lost so many men. Others have surrendered. The queen will be here shortly.
"Jenna, bring me my crown and my blue dress."
The girl looked confused but hurried off.
"What are you doing my love" whispered Beric.
Alara stood tall. "Being Queen."
----
Two men came too fetch her, a sellsword and an unsullied.
"Her Grace commands your presence" said the sellsword. He was handsome with electric eyes.
She grabbed Desmeras hand and ushered her queens guard to follow her. The were stopped by the door.
"They come" Alara said coldly. "They are weapon less."
The unsullied nodded and escorted her. She walked through the hallways that were once hers, when she was queen. She may no longer be queen, but her son would be King.
The dragon queen was seated on her throne.
The hall was filled with stony faved unsullied. Alara held her head high and walked towards the throne.
The dragon lady looked at her sell sword.
"I asked you to get me the queen, not these girls."
Alara came closer. Daenerys eyes locked with hers and she gasped.
"I apologise" she said. "I thought you would be older."
Alara smirked. "I married Robert at 10 and 6.
I understand your confusion. Now please allow me to introduce my sister by law, Lady Desmera Stark Nee Redwyne."
Desmera stood forward and smiled, her hands on her belly. She did not bow.
"I wish you and your child great health" said the dragon. Desmera stood cold.
"Now I have asked you here to ask about your children. I hear you have many. I don't not plan to kill them like my own niece and nephew were. I am not cruel like that. I only wish for you and them to swear fealty to me, as your only queen."
Alara smirked. "They are gone."
"Gone?" asked the dragon.
"Gone and safe. Only a mother would understand this, so it is fine to be confused.
My children are my everything. I would kiss the stranger 1000 times to let them live, go through extreme pain to let them live. They are my world. So now they are safe from you and your dogs. Maybe they are in Lys maybe over The wall. All you need to know is that you will not find them. They are far, far away. Kill me. See what happens. You will wake the sleeping bear."
The queens eyes were filled with rage.
"Escort Lady Alara, Lady Desmera and her sworn soldiers to her chambers. I will deal with this later."
Alara felt triumphant. She was never going to stop until her son was on that throne. Ever.
