Hello readers and thanks for joining me in what I hope will be one of my best books so far. I do have prior experience on sites such as bookrix and only hope this can compare to my book Her Betrothed Prince, which you can find online. Any-who... I hope you thoroughly enjoy this chapter and spread the word to your friends and followers. I enjoy feedback, so be sure to tell me what you think!

Shivers went up my spine as I rolled out of the warmth of my bed. I swear, my brother kept the house so cold that it was a miracle there wasn't a layer of frost on every surface even though it was already in the mid 60s this morning.

Pushing my hair out of my face, I grabbed my plush blue robe and slipped it on to head to the bathroom. After washing my face, brushing my teeth, and untangling my hair, there was a loud thump on the door and Tyler called out, saying if I didn't hurry up, he was going to pee on my laptop.

I rolled my eyes at myself in the mirror and gave an aggravated sigh. "Just a sec.", I called out to him, loud enough for him to hear on the other side of the door. When I opened the door to him cupping himself and contorting his face to seem as if he had just eaten something sour, I laughed. He just pushed past me, throwing me off balance slightly, and slamming the wooden door just a little to hard. Sometimes my brother could be the most dramatic person in the world that I wondered why my friends called me Queen Bee and not him. "Alrighty then." I said, sounding slightly like a female Jim Carrey. I itched under my left eye and before I closed my bedroom door I called out to him, "I'll be out in twenty."

My unruly auburn hair was being impossible, so I just pulled it to the left of my face and did a quick overhand braid, the locks intertwining neatly and giving the impression I spent a good five to ten minutes on it. There. Not so impossible after all. I thought in satisfaction while applying a small amount of liquid liner to my upper lids, then mascara, finishing the look with my signature red lipstick.

I yawned as I pulled on my navy blue blazer and donned my thin black scarf, placing it around my neck loosely and tucking it under the collar.

I am so glad that it is the last day of school.

I glanced at my suitcase propped up on the bench at the end of my bed and smiled. twelve hours and I would be on a plane with Pru, heading straight to California for the whole summer.

Walking out to the running car, I placed my bag in the back seat next to Tyler's and got into the passenger side. As soon as I closed the car door my phone rang with Pru's familiar ring tone. Ty started bouncing in his seat and clapped while singing "Ass Ass Ass... Stop! Now make that motherfucker hammer time."

I cut him off after that and laughed as Pru screeched in my ear. "Last day of junior year, Quinn!" Her slight Latina accent was in every one of her words as she continued. "This summer is going to be loca, chica! I'm actually pumped about it now that Daddy said Luke could come down for the wedding. But I think I can get Daddy to say he can stay in the room above the garage just to make me happy." I rolled my eyes and laughed. She went on for a little longer about how he was trying to butter her up about the whole Nicki situation.

Nicki is Pru's dad's twenty-something year old fiancee, whom Pru disliked with a passion.

Pru's dad, Graham, was doing anything she asked just to please her. She had threatened not to come when he told her that she would be in the wedding-- she refused to be a part of something she didn't even support. He told her to bring a friend, all expenses on him, and that had shut her up for a while. After the fact that she called me at like 2 A.M. ranting about it, then asking me to come with her. But her silence was short lived when she found out she was wearing a gray dress. Pru didn't do gray. She says it's drab and boring; that it makes her "look sick". So his gift to her was that we could go hang out at one of his clubs for a night or two, on one condition: no drinking. It was reasonable enough, but she got out of that when she was on the phone with him a few days later and overheard Nicki calling her a slut to someone.
