"Jen, are you coming to the party tonight?" My best friend, Kevin asked.
"It depends if Josh is, yano." I shrugged.
"You don't have do everything Josh says." He sighed.
"He's my fiance, Kevin."
"I just, don't think he's the right guy for you." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"I love him." I smiled. Everytime I thought of Josh, I think of all the things he's ever done for me and how sweet and caring he is.
"Fine. Come on, we have class." He smiled, taking my hand. As soon, as we rounded the corner, we say Josh.
"Hey honey." He grabbed me and kissed me. Josh was the quarterback of the school. We were only 18, but we'd been engaged for a while now. I was shocked when he proposed. We're only 18!
I was just a normal girl, why would the quarterback choose me? He said it was because of my amazing personality. Some how, that didn't seem good enough, but I let it slide.
"I have football practise right now, do you wanna meet me for dinner?" He smiled.
"Ugh yeah. I'll meet you on the field." I kissed him goodbye and walked to class.
"Ya know, its my birthday next week." Kevin smiled.
"I know that. We've been friends for 18 years." I stopped working. "What are you after?" I asked, suspiciously.
"Well, I kinda wanted to take a trip." He smiled.
"Where?"
"Vegas."
"Vegas?! What do you want to go to Vegas for?"
"It'll be fun! Come on Jen, its my birthday."
"Josh won't let me go." I rolled my eyes.
"Look, its your life. It doesn't matter what Josh says, ok?"
"Yes it does!"
"Look please Jennifer. Its my birthday." He pleaded.
"...Fine. But you owe me."
"Be quiet!" The math teacher screamed. Mrs Dumbel had always been a bossy, old lady.
Soon, the bell rang and I packed up my stuff.
"Are you coming or what?"
"I'd rather not hang with Josh and his gang of dumb asses." He laughed.
"Don't call them that. You have to accept the man I'm gonna marry, Kevin."
"Look, I'm sorry ok." He sighed.
"I have to go." I waved.
"Josh!" I called, seeing him on the benches, talking to his team mates. He ran over.
"Hey baby. I can't make dinner. The coach wants to take us out for dinner, in celebration. For winning yesterdays game." He sighed.
"Oh. Well I have something to tell you. Next week is Kevin's birthday and..."
"Your not going anywhere with that jerk."
"Kevin isn't a jerk. And we're going to Vegas."
"Vegas? Your not going to Vegas!"
"Yes I am!" I screamed.
"No your not."
"So its ok for you to go to California for your games?"
"Yes, that's for my games."
"Look I'm going to Vegas. You can't stop me."
"Fine. Do what you like."
