Phil
I hurried to school that morning after my alarm failed to wake me, this was two days in a row now! But once I got into the building I soon realised that I was still one of the earlier ones so I took my phones out of my bag and texted PJ ,probably my closest friend.Phil
Are you here and where are you???? I've been waiting literally years!!!!!!I waited about five minutes before texting again
Phil
Don't worry I'll just go and make friend with the pot plant if that's what you want!?Phil
REPLY!!!!!!!!!!Apparently PJ had decided texting wasn't cool enough right now, so with nothing else to do I wandered upstairs to my class room.
I knew that the only one up there would be our teacher or that boy who seemed to always be listening to music or drawing in his book. I kinda felt sorry for him to be honest as all he seemed to do was sit at the back of the class and stare out the window. I think his name was Dan or something, he had never properly introduced himself. I had seen him quite a few times with a group of people who I guessed were his friends but he never seemed to talk or interact, just listen, smile and nodded every now and then.
Opening the class door I saw him sitting in the corner, fringe covering one eye and his head bowed writing or drawing something it looked like. Turning back I noticed my teacher Mr Brown frowning at the computer
"Good morning Mr Brown, good weather for April isn't it?" I said trying to seem friendly.
"Yes ,good morning Phil, now can I have a bit of peace I'm attempting to get all your reports done in half an hour!" He replied slightly annoyed.
Nodding I walked over to my desk opened my book and the real world phased out of existence.Dan
Once again I was first in the class which wasn't really a surprise considering I had to catch the earliest bus into town. I sighed still it would be nice for a friend to greet me for once at the school gates or text to ask where I was, but I was still waiting for that day. I grabbed my note book out of my bag and a pencil fell out with it picking them both up I doodled all over the first page and had got got halfway through the second before Phil came in.Phil always managed the friendly person role who got all the good grades along with being one of the most popular people in the school which for a school like ours seemed almost impossible, but that was Phil I guess you could say; impossibly kind, impossibly popular, and impossibly gorgeous. Realising I probably shouldn't be staring him I quickly turned back to my doodles. Almost as soon as I had though, I peered up and saw him glance at me ,looking back down I could almost feel his blue eyes burning into my neck. I heard him chat to our teacher with his voice cheerful but not patronisingly so .Then sit down in his usual seat got out a book and seemed gone from the world. He hadn't even said hello or acknowledged me. Just walked straight past as if I was invisible, a shadow.
That's what I do best though ;act invisible, it's just what I'm good at ,staying quiet and not drawing attention to myself. To begin with it felt nice to pass through places unnoticed but soon it seemed almost tiresome and now I can barley attract attention even when I try. It's lonely to be the one who just tagged along but I always try stay smiling for anyone who might be looking. Only sometimes it's hard to smile when you feel like you're breaking and even harder to smile when you know all you are is a shadow.
Phil
Even though I tried, this morning I couldn't concentrate on my book. I had been able to at the start but it was as if someone had just all of a sudden shut down this alternative reality forcing me out and back into the class with Dan. Mr Brown wasn't in the room anymore so I guessed that he must have walked out to print the reports he mentioned earlier. So unsure what to do I once again picked up the book.It must have been only 10 minuets later when I felt a slight tug on my pastel jumper, I didn't entirely know why I had worn it today. Must just have been the first thing to grab out of the wardrobe. When I heard a Dan saying something, unable to hear I decided to attempt to make a conversation with him to find out what he had said.
"Hi sorry, didn't hear you the first time, what was that?" I asked trying to seem encouraging and friendly but I'm pretty sure it just sounded like I was talking to a toddler. My voice had always hated me.
"Oh I was just saying I-I-loved your jumper, and um, I was just wondering where you bought it." He said, eye see flickering to meet mine then glance away a definite blush rising in his cheeks. I kept steady eye-contact if you could it call eye contact; me looking into his chocolate brown eyes whilst they flittered around the room trying to do anything but that.
"Really? Thank you I can't really remember where I bought it though. It was ages ago! Anyway I don't think blue really suits me" I replied, act cool that's what your good at, I thought to myself.
"Oh. Don't worry then! But I think that the blue d-does look nice on you, makes your eyes look pretty"
Did he just use the word pretty? I think Dan realised at the same time I did and he looked away quickly face turning more and more red by the second. Play it cool I repeated to myself and forced out an awkward laugh.
"Thank-you, um I'm going to continue with my book now if that's ok."Without waiting for an answer I turned back round and held the book up to my face but the words were blocked out by the repeated thought. He called me pretty.

Hi, so this is my first 'thing' I'm not sure how it's going to go but I hope that it's ok and you enjoy it! Again, I'm not sure how often I will keep writing but it should at least be once every couple of weeks.
