If you know about them and what they do, then run, run as fast as you can. Before you get caught up in their web of lies. I want out, but the only way is to die. Anyone who knows of them and isn’t working for them, well … let’s just say there are no people who can tick the above.
I am currently sitting, watching from above the valley where all the exchanges take place. I have to sit hidden up here, because the participants in his little business don’t even know I exist, and he wants it to stay that way. ‘It’s too dangerous’ He says, ‘They’ll take you’ He says.
What he doesn’t know is that I’m a big girl and that I know how to fight for myself. I’ve been taking mixed martial art lessons since the day I was born, thanks to him. One day I’m going to escape from this prison he calls home. I’m going to-
‘Let’s go!’ I hear his gruff voice harshly whisper as he passes.
I try to make conversation but he’s not really a very talkative person when it comes to his jobs.
“How did it go?”
“Good”
“Did they pay up?”
“When don’t they?”
And that’s as far as a conversation goes in our father-daughter relationship.
There’ll be a party tonight just like there always is after an exchange.
And without a doubt my dad won’t let me off the leash he has around my neck, metaphorically of course. Every party, I spot Him dancing and checking me out, but unfortunately, dad sees too and that’s the end of that.
I want to go over and dance with him but, I can’t. I don’t have the nerve I want to have to disobey my father. It sounds easy right? You haven’t seen what he’s done to traitors and enemies. It’s brutal. I don’t want that to happen to me. I’m sorry; I just don’t want to lose my fingers or teeth.
