I sit down, everything is quiet while everyone is gulping down there chipotle while my dad puts down his fork with that satisfying "CLING"
He clears his throat and says "Ben, Latisha I was offered a job at the new office in Ottawa"
Just hearing that made my heart pound like an earth quake. My dad then continues "I accepted the job, we will have to pack up and move to Ottawa."
Me and Latisha screams "WHAT?" And grips the table. I mean sure Blind river is a boring place and Ottawa is more entertaining but the only part I was scared of is the part that we have to pack up our whole life's and store it in another place. Plus the idea of me going to a new school is hell."
"And mom you approve of this??" I question urgently
"Yes dear, I will find a new job for myself"
All this pressure just made me drop my fork and go to my room. Running towards my room I see Stanley (My cat) jumping onto my bed. I slow down and start petting him and he starts purring on my lap. "I know me too i don't want to move to a new place but, maybe it will turn out for the better?"
My cat rotates his head like he was agreeing with me.
