I burst through his door and run to his side.
"Guess what, Cole! You have a promotion and I have your job!"
"Seriously?!!?! That's awesome!"
"Uh ya it is! So get your butt up and move your things outta my office!"
"Dang getting a new job already going to your big head, I see."
"Hey! Is that any way to talk to the very sister that got you a promotion? No? Right I didn't think so!"
I smile and go back to Blaine's office to find out when I start.
"Today if you would like."
"Sounds perfect!"
When I get back to my office Cole and his stuff is no where in sight, so I text Blaine and let him know that I am going to Office Depot and Staples if he needs anything.
Blaine: I only need one thing.
Kimber: And what's that?
Blaine: To come with you ;)
Kimber: Okay. I will meet you down in the lobby in 5 minutes. I have something I need to do.
Blaine: Okay.
I head to find Cole, but had no luck. So I go down to the lobby and walk with Blaine to my car. On our way to the store we are laughing and singing when our hands glaze each other reaching for the stereo. I look at him for a split second and lace our fingers together. I can feel him staring at me while he runs his thumb over my knuckles, then he says.
"I know that we only met each other a year ago when you came in to give Cole lunch, but I had a big crush on you. I understand it sounds dorky, but it was like love at first sight."
"Really? I would have never thought you were into me, but I also have a crush on you."
He smiles at me and then lets go of my hand since we are now at the store. He helps me pick out everything I'm gonna need for my new job. After about an hour of shopping with him my sides felt like they were on fire. He was so funny. He sat down in a chair and it flipped backwards and he landed with the most shocked face. I almost peed my pants from laughing so much. His laugh was so heart melting. When we got back to the car he starts up the conversation again.
"We can't be together."
"I know."
"But I really like you!"
"I really like you too, but since I work for you it's against the rules to date."
"Well I would still like to hang out with you."
"I agree."
"Would you like to go out to dinner?"
"No. Cole s staying at his girlfriend's, so you can come over and I can cook you dinner."
"You cook?"
"Damn right I do!"
"Well I might just have to take you up on that offer. What do you say, I be there at 7?"
"Sounds good."
For the rest of the car ride we talked about everything and anything. It was so easy talking to him.
