Chapter 3

Valdez's POV

I went up to the roof to plan out my anniversary with Calypso. We eventually came back to camp. I wanted to do something special for her so I was going to plan a dinner on our cabin rooftop. I have to admit it has a really nice view.

When I came up, the roof was empty just as I expected it to be with one exception. Annabeth was on the floor sleeping?

I yelled Annabeth and she sat up confused. Walking over there she did something really strange.

She grabbed something from her pocket crushed it and breathed it in. Annabeth was getting high? That couldn't be. Annabeth doesn't get high.

She got up with my help. She looked as if she had been crying and her clothes was a mess. She told me as if to intimidate me "Don't you dare tell anyone about this Valdez or you'll regret being born" Immediately she did something really unexpected she started laughing like a crazy person. Right now, she was a crazy person.

She went down to the ground and I followed her. She really didn't seem all that okay.

Something fell out of her pocket.

She yelled "NOOOOOOO!" and began to cry. She stopped when she felt me drop to the ground. She got up and ran away. Of course, I followed her. She didn't know of course. She walked all the way to the infirmary and hid on a bush. I hid on the bush behind her.

I just couldn't figure out what she was hiding from. Then I saw Will leave and Annabeth run over to a drawer and start looking frantically for something.

My guess pills since that's what she just lost. She is destroying it and apparently not finding anything. Will walks up behind her but she is way to preoccupied to notice him

"Looking for this?" He asks Annabeth.

Her expression changed from surprised to fear and then desire.

"Yes." She said weakly. I got up out of the bush all the way to the infirmary doors.

"Come." Will looked disappointed but told her to follow him with his finger. So she did.

Solace's POV

What in the world happened to Annabeth Chase? I can feel her heartbreak. Some of us, sons and daughter of Apollo can do that, but, that idea just seems ridiculous. She is deeply in love with Percy Jackson. Percy would never do anything to hurt Annabeth.

The girl smelled like beer and had stolen drugs last night and was coming for more. Obviously, she wasn't getting anymore. I led her to our very small psych room. Chris had been the last to be here.

Before she could try anything (I am well aware of how dangerous she is) I quickly grabbed her and disarmed her. That was way too easy. She had let me disarm her...

"Will, I am not going to hurt you. Please, could I have my dagger back?" She said weakly and looking at the ground. Not even bothering to look up. What happened to her? Never in my life have I seen her like this. I wouldn't dare to say weak but, not scary.

"Annabeth, what happened?" I said as I brushed her face up carefully with my hand and managed to see the real damage.

"Will, give me the Oxy. I need it." That was not going to happen.

"No, tell me what happened" I put her hair behind her ear softly. She didn't flinch away from my contact.

"Will, please I beg you just give it to me" Tears began to fall out of her eyes but, she never looked away from my eyes. I didn't mind really those grey eyes are beautiful to watch. I was going to stick to the plan.

"Okay, fine but, just lay down" I took the blanket away and motioned her to sit down while I put the Oxy on the table in front of the bed. She was too preoccupied looking at it that she didn't realize that I was tying her up. When she finally realized it, it was too late. I was getting up from the bed and putting the Oxy back in my pocket.

"NO! Will don't do this. Please Will. Don't take it. I beg you don't take it. Please. WILL!" She screamed and begged as I left her there.

Now, I was going to need to find Piper. I hadn't really talked to her after Nico rejected me. I didn't really talk to anyone I just spent my days in the library or in the infirmary. A few people gave me looks because I hadn't been seen outside in a long time. Practicing sword fighting with Jason. As I walked over there, they noticed me and stopped fighting. I walked up to Piper and whispered

"Piper I need you to come with me. Annabeth is in trouble" Her face turned to sheer terror. She dropped her sword and whispered something I couldn't make out to Jason who decided we also needed his help. My plan was to be as discreet as possible. She didn't need that many people knowing what she was going through.

Running would have brought us too much attention so we did an kind of awkward jog-walk to the infirmary. I lead them to the psych room. When I entered Annabeth's gaze went straight to my pocket where I still had the Oxy. Her face lit up.

"You came back." When she saw that Piper and Jason were behind me her face turned to sheer terror.

"Annabeth?" Piper said apparently very worried about her tied up friend. Jason proceeded to look at me like he was going to attack me at any moment if I didn't explain. Maybe I should've said something on the way here.

"Will, please. I beg you don't do this. I'll do anything but, please don't do this." A tear streamed down her cheek. Her eyes by now where red. She had done some intensive crying.

"Will, what are you gonna do?" Piper was scared, too.

"You'll do anything? Will you tell me what happened?" She fell silent.

"I thought that. Piper I am going to need you to charmspeak Annabeth into talking." Piper was perplexed and it took her a moment to for everything to sink in.

"Annabeth, what happened?" That was very strong. She's good.

"I was at Camp Jupiter when Reyna told me that she would find me the city plans and to please stop annoying her. I knew it was going to be a few weeks before they found them so, I decided I would come back. It was really late when remembered a blue cupcake I had. Percy loves blue food and I missed him so I couldn't resist coming and surprising him. When I was walking to his cabin, I heard someone in the Hades cabin scream PERCY so I thought maybe he was in danger. When I walked in he was on the floor making out with Nico. I was so confused and angry that I just had to leave. Percy ran after me and I told him that he should never speak to me again and to go be happy with Nico. I really could not deal with that so I stole a beer pack and some Oxy and got him off my mind." She began to cry intensely. I feared she might dehydrate.

So it was very real. Percy had cheated on Annabeth. He had hurt Annabeth. With no other than Nico Di Angelo. He was going to listen to me.

I untied Annabeth and gave her the Oxy and fled the room high on anger.
