Ed was surprised,
" Don't cry, I'm sorry I didn't know it would make you feel like that."
Liz wiped her tears,
" Look at me acting like a baby." She chuckled awkwardly and stood up. " Let's do something Ed. I'm bored. Well not that your music's boring, it's really good, um..."
Ed couldn't help laughing himself, Misty looked so flustered. He stood up as well and shrugged,
" I'm ok with anything you want to do."
Misty looked at him, " Are you a fan of Lord of The Rings?"
Ed couldn't contain his excitement, "fan" was an understatement. " Yeah, why?"
Liz also seemed very excited, " They're holding a convention! Wanna go see?"
She grabbed his hand and they ran down the streets and climbed aboard a city bus. It took them far into the heart of London. Liz tapped Ed's shoulder when they reached a huge building.
" We're here."
They walked in until a security guard stopped them, " Tickets please?"
" Sorry sir, we have no tickets. Where can we buy them? "
" You had to have booked them before hand otherwise, no entry."
Liz looked determined. " How long will the convention be in town?"
" Sorry ma'am, today is the last day."
Ed's face fell. Liz took him outside and whispered,
" Don't worry, I have an idea." They walked all around the building searching for a back door they could sneak through. All the doors were locked, but there was an alley in between the building and another which presented an open window. Liz climbed onto a massive garbage bin and into the window. She looked into the room to make sure no-one was there, she stuck her head back out and grinned,
" Coast clear! We can sneak to the elevators and go to the main floor where I'm guessing everyone is. Give me your guitar!"
Ed handed her the guitar and climbed into the window. He found himself in an office. They quickly exited and made their way to the nearest elevator. Just then they heard footsteps. A security guard yelled, " Hey! You shouldn't be here!" He began to run and so did they. They turned hallway after hallway until Liz spotted the stairs. They half ran, half flew down the stairs, the guard pursuing them. They finally reached the main floor and to their good fortune, thousands of noisy people in costumes milled around for them to blend in with. Liz grabbed a lord of the rings mask from a costume rack and threw it onto Ed. For herself, she dove under a big cardboard box near a wall. The security guard was coming their way but didn't recognize them and moved along. Ed finally breathed after holding it in so long. He whispered to Liz.
" He's gone. We did it!"
Liz jumped out of the box and gave Ed an hug. She whooped with joy. Still exhilirated, they made their way around each booth, trying food, taking pictures and staring at all the costumes. After what seemed like hours, they left the building. Ed realized that his parents might be wondering where he was. He sat next to Liz on the bus reliving the entire day and how much fun he had had. He turned to Liz,
" Thanks for bringing me here, I didn't even know they were holding a convention." Then after a few moments of silence he said, "Want me to walk you home?"
Liz grinned, " That's sweet Ed, but it's only five. The sun is still out, I'll be fine."
Ed blushed. Liz said goodbye, got off the bus and walked to her house, it was hidden on a street he couldn't see, but he watched her until she disappeared from his sight. It was only then he remembered that he had forgotten to ask her if she would meet him again.
