I decided before posting any of the following content you're about see, just know I've been working on it since October. I hadn't posted anything until I reached around ten or so chapters to give it a head start. I apologize immensely to everyone who has read and liked any previous themes that this book once had. But, I can do what I want.
Please leave feedback and don't forget to vote! It helps me on the journey of writing!

Chapter One ♔
No one was meant to stay in the same place for very long. We are meant to move, constantly move, so our mentality and physicality could endure the positive changes the different surroundings would bring us. I watched several people walk in front of the store glass, some running, others taking a leisurely walk, but moving regardless. My sights narrowed in on a young couple from across the way.
Their hands interlocking and their smiles radiating even from where I stood. I wondered briefly if I could find someone to move around with too; to explore the unknown with.
But my thoughts were interrupted as the shop door bells rang, signaling the arrival of some customers. I turned my back to the world outside, approaching the front desk to stand in my position once again.
I hadn't taken notice of whoever walked in, because the people standing in front of me now certainly gave me a fright. A girl with bright purple hair was now behind the counter where I stood. Her nose piercing glistened from the light that shined directly above us, along with the gentleman that stood by her side silently. I glanced at his features, noticing the tattoos that seemed to cascade from his neck down. He too had piercings, but only in his ears. He seemed to pay no mind to my presence, glancing around the store casually.
These weren't the kind of people that just pop up in a floral shop.
I notice her smile at me, to which I politely return.
"How can I help you today?" I ask them, looking at the two. She seemed to notice the man beside her not paying attention, for she nudged his side harshly, to which he responded with a cold look her way. He didn't seem too keen on being here.
"Well, we're getting married in the next couple of weeks and were wondering what we'd have to do to set up some arrangements." Her voice was nothing but soft, polar-opposite to the man beside her. I smile at her gently, retrieving my note pad and pen from underneath the countertop.
"Alright, follow me this way." I tell them, mostly to her. She nods, grabbing the man's hand as she follows me to the consultation table to discuss the design of the wedding and what kind of flowers she'd be interested in having on her special day.
"Zayn, what do you think of these-"
"They're nice babe, get whatever you want." He mutters to her. It must've been the first time I heard his voice since he arrived here. His interest was still elsewhere as his bride to be continued to look at the different arrangements and designs that we could offer in whatever choice she liked.
It felt like nearly hours before she finally decided on everything she wanted to have. Between bright white Hydrangeas and white cascade bouquets for the bridesmaids, we shake hands before standing up to go back to the counter.
My curiosity wondered as to why she was marrying the guy in the first place. He seemed to have no interest in the wedding at all. And I know flowers aren't really the golden topic of wedding planning for any male specimen, but I would've thought he would at least offered his input on things. After all, it's his wedding too.
After arranging the dates the flowers would be due, and how much everything would add up to, I came to learn the girl's name was Amelia, Amy for short. I quite liked the name, though it didn't suit her physically. Her personality certainly was a contrast to the person on the outside.
"Thank you for the help.." Amelia dragged on, absentmindedly looking for a name tag. I smiled before adding in my name.
"Lily." I tell her, shaking her hand once again.
"Lily, how convenient." She responds, pointedly looking around the flower shop before setting her eyes back on me. I laugh at her statement nodding my head. She waves goodbye as they walk out of the shop doors, the bells ringing on their way out.
I sigh, taking a glance outside the window once again. The lack of light signaling the beginning of darkness that was soon to come. I lock the register and set the written notepad behind it, that way I'll remember where I left off with the arrangements when I come back during the weekend.
"Candy, I'm heading out!" I yell, retrieving my jacket and purse from the Employee room.
"Alright Lily, be safe! See you Saturday!" I hear her older voice respond. I smirk, shaking my head and wishing her the same. Once leaving the shop, my face is immediately hit with the fierce cold. My body soon began shivering upon the feeling.
As I began my trek back to my apartment, I noticed the lack of people that seemed to be on the street tonight. Not a lot of cars were on the road either. It was a work day and everyone seemed to be already at home. I shook my head, continuing my brisk walk back to the warmth haven of my cozy home.
I was only two more blocks away before the feeling of being watched settled upon my shoulders slowly. I didn't dare look behind me, for I knew I would signal the acknowledgment of someone else's presence. Picking up the pace, I keep my sights set on the path in front of me. Only one more block Lily, only one more.
I swear I couldn't have unlocked my door fast enough when I entered the apartment building. A sigh of relief enveloped me as I flung the keys inside the basket next to the door. Locking it behind me, I stomp out of my boots and hang up my heavy jacket.
I traveled over to the lamps in the living room, flicking them on and bringing some light inside of the apartment. For some reason, the darkness had begun to bother me tonight. Never once, since moving to London had I experienced the feeling of someone watching me. Normally, I would feel people staring at me when I was in room or something, which was normal. But there was something about tonight that struck my interest.
I wandered over to the window, glancing out at the skyline of all the houses surrounding my building. It wasn't until I looked down towards the street, that a breath had hitched itself in my throat.
There, standing beside a blacked-out SUV stood what looked to be a male. His arms were crossed in front of him as he stares directly up at me. And I swear if I wasn't so high up, I would think he was staring into my soul. A shiver ran up my spine upon seeing him raise his arm in the air in what looked like a pointed gun manner, before bringing his hand back, signaling his shot directly at me.
