Alexis' POV
It was quiet. Too quiet. Ugh crap, that sounded like a shitty spy movie. You know the ones where the men are dressed all in black, and the bullets don't travel in time with the wound effects so you have a bullet on screen and then 10 seconds later, you have the actual sound effect. Man that bugs my like crazy; unfortunately I'm getting off track. It was oddly quiet, which is strange considering the fact that it's the middle of lunch at my overly crowed high school. I stare down at my book and groan inwardly. Just my luck, I bet I was so zoned out in my book and Brendon Urie's crazy high voice, I probably didn't hear the bell ring to go to class. I pause my Panic! At The Disco playlist, which I of course was using to block out the noise all my idiot "peers" were making and start packing up my things, thinking up an excuse to why I'm late as I slinging my backpack over my shoulder and turn around. "Holy fucking shit.". Everyone was still in the lunch corridor but they just weren't...moving. Great. Just fucking great. Being around all these smokers, drinkers and drugs addicts has finally gotten to me. Now I'm hallucinating and will most likely die in 10 seconds. I count 10 seconds off in my head then look around once more. Well I'm still alive and this hallucination isn't over so the next logical thing to do is FUCKING PANIC. I whip my head back and forward walking around looking people up and down. "How the fucking Hell....no." I shake my head, walking back to my stuff as I take my IPod Classic back out of my bag. "Nope, this is all just one of those stupid text posts people do at school to annoy the teachers and shit. One of the many problems of not having a phone. I'm always out of the loop" Angrily flicking through my IPod menu, my eyes glance at the time. 12:47pm. Lunch should be over in 3 minutes so let's see how long these idiots can keep this up. I breeze through 2 more chapters and half the Death of a Bachelor album before looking up once more. Everyone was still just as immobile as before. Wow. I guess someone made some serious threats to keep everyone still for this long. I look my down at my IPod screen and raise my eyebrow at the time. Still 12:47. Fantastic. Now my favourite possession is messed up. Standing up and stretching my back I walk over to some jackass nearby. "Hey buddy, don't to anything if you don't mind my looking at your watch." No response. "Awesome" Bending down, I turn my head and look at his watch. "Fuck his watch is broken too. It still says 12:47. Crazy coincidence I guess..." I chuckle nervously and look around. "They've been still for a really long time. They're bound to move eventually. No one can stay still this long." 5 minutes pass. Then 10 minutes. 15 minutes. 20 minutes. At least I think they're full minutes. And yet no one moves. I start pacing and glaring at the other kids "This is really fucking creepy and I'm really tired of this. Where are the damn teachers to put a stop to this." Setting my stuff down I walk to the principals office and knock on her door. No response. "YOU KNOW I'M GETTING REALLY FUCKING TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT RESPONDING TO ME" Still no response. Growing more and more aggravated I throw open the door to the principals office, and stop dead in my tracks. She's not moving. She's a still as the other kids outside. Her phone is pressed to her ear and her mouth is still open as if she was just about to say something when she had the undeniable urge to become a living status. I scramble out of the office so fast I run into another teacher, knocking him over. "Shit wait fuck no I'm so sorry si-" I blink staring down at him. The man had fallen straight down, making no attempt to catch himself or break is fall in anyway. His hands are still holding his coffee and his folder out as if he was walking. Why isn't that coffee spilling? Maybe it's empty. I kneel down beside the man and take the lid off the coffee cup, gasping and dropping it when I see what's inside. Coffee, solid as ice and dark brown is sitting perfectly still in the container. Slowly dipping my finger in the cup I hiss and retract it quickly, sucking it into my mouth. "Shit shit hot hot so fucking hot" I stand up and look around, taking my finger out of my mouth as I wipe it on my shirt. "So everyone in my school is frozen, liquid objects won't move like they normally do and I'm the only one who can move....okay roll fucking credits I don't like this shitty movie!" I stomp outside and look at the sky "GOD IF THIS IS YOUR VERSION OF ENTERTAINMENT THIS ISN'T FUNNY." I scream at the sky as I slowly get more and more hysterical. "Holy shit what do I fucking do?!" Running back to my backpack I hug it close to me, staring at everyone around me. This is a dream right? No. If it was a dream my finger wouldn't hurt. I don't have dreams like that. Maybe I need to retrace my steps? Retracing your steps always works in Disney movies. I set my bag down on the stone ledge and sit beside it, putting my headphone back in as I turn my playlist back on and pull out my book, flipping back to the page I was on before everything went silent. Okay everything can go back to normal now. I look back down at my book, skimming it quickly as my eyes are drawn to the last sentence. "It's time for you to stop..." No way. No fucking way. That's major bullshit...and yet it's the only lead I have...fuck. Slowly looking around I mumble stupidly "Time to go." The world around my erupts with sound and movement so quickly, my ears ring and my eyes have a hard time processing everything. I look around crazily as everyone moves and laughs just like they were before, as if they have no recollection of what just happened. Of being complete statues. Some girls whisper about me and point, but I could care less. Did I do that? Did I actually just control time...? The bell to go to class rings and everyone slowly moves to where they are supposed to go. I sit there in total shock as I think about what just happened. Am I some kind of freak? Am I an X-Men? This is fucking insane. Huffing slightly, I grab my bag and walk to class, praying to whatever higher God there is, in this world, that nothing else like that happens today.
