Charlotte seemed like a normal 20 year old, but no one knew her enough to veto that. The only reason she enjoyed her job at Starbucks was because she got free coffee which helped her stay awake on her night shift. After work, she would go home and write in her dictionary-sized journal. Everyone that saw it just thought that it was a diary or something along the lines of those, but they were far from right, and no one really cared enough to ask. She was actually glad about that, because hopefully, they would find out when she shows it all to Officer Douglas.
What she was writing in that journal was something that would change how everyone thought about this "peaceful little town" called Carney, Michigan. Word would get around very fast if she told anyone, because there's only about 200 people living there. Here is an estimation of the type of people there.
--------------------------------------
Quiet unnoticable people: 57
Friendly people: 121
Grumpies: 20
|Criminals (only Charlotte and her| |uncle Officer Douglas know |
about these): 2.
---------------------------------------
Well I hope you're asking yourself, "Two criminals? What did they do? And how come only Charlotte and Officer Doug know about them?" Well first of all, they're not just any criminals. They don't owe too many speeding tickets. They didn't rob a bank. They're doing much. much worse.
