The entire room was spinning, her words weren't registering with him.

'Kim's not here, no one can get a hold of her, her family has no clue where she is'

Those were the words Erin spoke and they reverberated through his head still, thirty minutes later.

"Son, sit down" Bob Ruzek told him gently guiding him towards a chair, "can someone get my boy some water!"

"On it!" Kevin called out, he went to the small fridge and grabbed a bottle. None of this made sense, Kim wanted nothing more than to marry Adam. He was terrified that she had been in an accident of some sort, it was the only logical explanation.

Adam fought against his father's movements, "No..." He pushed his father's hands off of him, "I'm not sitting down, and I don't need a drink" he declared, "I need to find Kim"

"Adam...you need to calm down!" Bob told him, "You don't need to be going off half cocked"

Adam shook his head, "I can't stay here" he grabbed his cell phone and dialed her number again, quickly tossing it across the room when it went straight to voice mail.

He watched as the unit huddled together, whispering to each other.

"What?" Adam questioned, he wasn't in the mood for hushed meetings and following procedure, his fiancé was nowhere to be found and he was scared shitless.

Erin was appalled, "No! You're out of your mind Hank" she couldn't believe he even asked her, "There's no way she's left him at the alter, I'm telling you something is wrong"

"What...what did you just say?" Adam was enraged, he grabbed Hank by the collar, "What the fuck did you say?"

Hank kept his own temper in check, he knew Ruzek wasn't thinking straight, "Ruzek..I had to ask..you know that"

"Where are we going?" Kim asked softly, she was trying to get him to talk to her, to get through to him.

"You'll find out soon enough" Sean grunted, briefly taking his eyes off the road, "it didn't have to play out like this you know"

Kim hugged herself, "What happened to you?"

He smirked, "Nothing"

"The Sean I know..he wouldn't do this. He wouldn't hurt me" Kim wiped the tears from her cheeks.

"Guess you didn't know me as well as you thought, huh?" He pulled the car into an empty parking lot, "honestly? You only have yourself to blame"

Trudy and Mouch handled sending the majority of the guests home, the sun having set on the day.

It was clear there wouldn't be a wedding, "Tru..what do you think is going on?" Mouch asked as they made their way to the car.

"I don't know. Don't tell anyone...but...I'm scared" her voice cracking, she felt betrayed by her own emotions. She liked to think she was 'cold as ice', but for whatever reason Kim Burgess had broke through her defenses, she let herself cry as Mouch wrapped her up in a bear hug.

"They'll find her, maybe it's all a big misunderstanding" he tried to alleviate her fears, but he knew it was useless.

"Just give me a second..please?" Adam asked as he looked over his shoulder at his team who stood behind him on his front porch. He wasn't sure what he was going to find when he unlocked the door to the home he shared with Kim.

"You sure?" Erin asked, her hand on the small of his back, "you don't need to do this alone" they'd all been relieved to come up empty when they called all of the local hospitals and had come up empty. Their relief was very short lived, and their confusion and frustration only grew.

None of it made sense, and they had all began to wonder if Kim was in fact a runaway bride, it was obvious Adam was having the same thoughts.

"I'm good" Adam told her as he pulled the door open.

He took a deep breath and switched the light on immediately bathing the living room in light that was suddenly too harsh for his eyes.

He jammed his thumb and index finger in his eyes as he moved to pinch the bridge of his nose, nothing looked out of the ordinary.

There was no sign of a struggle, as happy as that made him it terrified him at the same time. It was getting harder and harder to ignore what was beginning to stare him in the face.

He paused in the doorway of their bedroom, her wedding dress laid out on their bed, he crossed over the threshold of the room and lifted the dress in his hands. He felt a lump rise in his throat as his fingers ran over the silky fabric, the dress was gorgeous. He could only envision how beautiful she would've looked in it.

A sob escaped his lips, he sat on the bed and held the dress in his arms, he couldn't fight it anymore.

Al was tired of waiting, "I'm going in. He shouldn't be alone right now" he huffed, "I didn't think Kim had it in her...but this? This is fucked up!" He couldn't believe the soft spoken sweet woman could be so heartless, "How could she do this to him? I had no idea she was such a bitch"

Kevin knew he should bite his tongue, Al was his superior. He chewed on the inside of his cheek in hopes of keeping his mouth shut, but the longer Al ranted the harder it became.

Finally he gave in to his anger, "With all due respect O, I think you should stop talking man" his hands curling into fists at his sides, "Kim didn't do this..something happened"

Al just rolled his eyes, "Whatever man, I hope you're right. Seriously, I hope you're right" he went in the house in search of Adam.

Hank stopped the rest of them, "We need to search this place, if something happened to her we need to get to the bottom of this" he looked back into the house, "and if she did leave him, he's gonna need all of us"

Erin was beyond angry, "I'm telling you she didn't leave him!"

Colin Roman was pissed, he pounded on the door, "Sean! C'mon open up!" He had promised his mother he'd check in on her youngest boy, he was the typical baby of the family. He needed his hand fucking held lately, he seemed unable to do anything.

He gave up and used his key, he felt the air leave his lungs when he finally stepped inside the small studio apartment.

"Ah...fuck Sean!" He muttered, knowing his brother had gone off the deep end.

Antonio scanned through the papers on the counter, he spotted the familiar and feminine handwriting, he grabbed it.

"Shit.." He tried to avert his eyes from what was written, he knew it was a 'Dear John' letter and didn't want to read it.

"What is it?" Kevin asked.

He held it up, "Al was right.." He pushed the letter into Kevin's hands, "She left him"

"Not possible, it's not possible" Kevin whispered, he knew Adam needed it.

He went down the hallway, Adam and Al sat quietly on the bed, the dress still in Adam's lap, Al's hand on Adam's shoulder.

"Adam...Antonio found this in the kitchen" Kevin said holding the note up.

Adam rose from the bed and took it, he looked at Al and Kevin, "You mind..I need to be alone" he said softly.

Both men nodded and moved to the door, "We're right outside..you'll get through this Adam" Al told him before leaving with Kevin.

Jay found Erin on the back deck, she was obviously in deep thought, "Talk to me Erin..I can tell this isn't sitting well with you" he had learned to trust her instincts, she was one of if not the best cops he knew, "she's your best friend, what's your gut say?"

She looked him in the eye, "I want to read the note." She told him, "Jay, she loves Adam. I can't see her walking away, this just doesn't make sense"

"Er, I trust you" Jay snaked his arm around her waist, "if it isn't sitting well with you, it doesn't sit well with me. We need to figure this out, the quicker the better"
