I sat in my power station, charging slowly, though I was just a torso. The stubs where my legs should have been were sitting in the two assigned slots where my legs were supposed to be. Len and Luka were in front of me, standing over a table and fixing my legs. The bar on my left leg had a crack in it, and was draining my power faster than regular. I felt lazy, sluggish and slow. I looked around the room, trying to ignore the morbid idea that the spare parts around me weren't spare at some point, that they may have been attached to some other animatronics at one point in time. I flicked my eyes back to Len, who was in front of me, knelt down with my legs in his hands. He set the left one on the ground, taking my stump and reattaching my right leg, then the left, and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into a standing position while Luka came over with my arms, reattaching them to my shoulders. I flicked the bar on my left arm with my middle finger and thumb on y right hand, hearing a satisfying clink. all the bars were a full, bright green and fully functional, or so said the strength bar flashing on my screen a healthy green colour. Lovely, I was fully functional again. I re-played my song to check for glitches, but was glad to find none, that meant I was fully perfectly functional for the next hour or so. "Thank you, Professor Len, Professor Luka." I said smoothly, no stuttering or glitching to be aware of.
"You're welcome." Professor Len smiled at me, taking his glasses off to clean them.I tilted my head in slight confusion. "Professor Len. Do you really need those glasses?" I asked, Though Len just looked at me and blinked.
"What do you mean..?" He asked, slipping his glasses back on. I stepped from my charging station and walked over to him.
"You have very pretty blue eyes, Professor, but they are hard to see with those glasses." I stated. It was the most obvious thing in the world to me, but he didn't seem to notice. Len's cheeks flushed a light pink and he looked down.
"Thank you, Rin."
"That wasn't intended as a compliment."
He looked back up at me, his face back to regular complexion.
"It wasn't?"
"I was merely stating a fact, Professor Len."
"A fact..?" His face flushed pink again, his vital signs popping back up on my screen, heart rate elevated and bran activity accelerated.
"Professor, you're happy..?" I asked, tilting my head slightly. Professor Len nodded and smiled at me, chuckling under his breath.
"Yes, I am." He smiled and stretched his arms above his head. "Shall we get going then?" He smiled. I nodded once and followed close behind Len as he took me through the hallways of the SBOI, once again passing the "Memory Vault."
"Professor Len." I asked, my head tilting as we walked past the Memory Vault.
"Yes, Rin?" He looked back at me as we walked, my screen scanning his face and vital signs, everything appearing normal though he was slightly confused.
"What is a 'Memory Vault'?" I asked, Len's eyes widening.
"Nothing that you need to be worried about..." He cleared his throat, pushing his glasses up his nose.I didn't question it, I just kept walking until we came back to Len's office, settling myself on my charging station to recharge my limbs, my heart draining my energy swiftly. I closed my eyes, focusing on my charging icon in the corner of my screen while I heard the slight humming on my charging pod and the clicking of Len on his computer. "Don't be alarmed..." I heard Len breath right next to my ear, my eyes snapping over in surprise. I saw Len's blonde ponytail right next to my face as he plugged his USB into the port behind my hair in the nape of my neck, my data transfer bar coming up, filling quickly.
"NEW DATA RECEIVED: MP3 FILE 071 DOWNLOADED VIEW NOW?"
I scrolled down to click the 'yes' button, tilting my head at the item in the folder, labelled "Heart."
Professor Len rubbed the back of his neck as he took out his USB, biting his bottom lip.
"Its a new song... Like the one that plays every hour, though I changed your song..." He said, looking down. I tilted my head a little further, clicking on the song in question, a slow beat playing through my headphones.
