Chapter 5 "How Awkward"

Chapter five

“Oh how interesting,” Harry said real slowly.  saying it was slow was actually an understatement and saying itwas an understatement is an understatement. I bet you're confused now but don't worry, My problem is bigger than yours. 

OKAY KILL ME NOW. OH WAIT DON’T. PLEASE DON’T. I’M TOO YOUNG. OKAY. SCRATCH THAT. LET ME START AGAIN. OKAY. HERE’S THE DEAL. IT’S NOT MY FAULT I AM SOCIALLY AWKWARD!! I CAN’T EVEN TELL IF THEY’RE BEING SARCASTIC OR WHAT. I took out my phone and gripped it tight. Lol I’m weird. Niall saw what I was doing and took my phone. I was about to protest when somebody talked, distracting me from my thoughts.

“Don’t worry, I wasn’t being sarcastic,” Harry chuckled. OH NO, DON’T TELL ME I SAID IT OUT LOUD.

“You did,” Harry said teasingly as he sipped his coffee. So yeah. The lads have been bombarding me with questions about myself - nothing too personal of course. I mean, I don’t really have any dark secrets or anything. My eyes wandered to each one of them. Niall. Louis. Zayn. Harry. Four lads, oh wait, I thought there were five members?

“Liam’s out, with Danielle probably,” Louis said. Before I could protest again, he shouted, “You just got MIND-READ!” 

“What,” I said as I gave him a ‘you’re weird face’

“I’m a psychic, I’m a psychic, uh-huh, oh yeah! in your face! uh-huh! Oh yeah! ” Louis said, completely ignoring me. He did a..umm…a really weird dance that made me chuckle.

“Louis, look! She’s laughing!” Niall said as he acted shocked. Louis played a long, of course, what did you expect.

“OMG, REALLY? BUT SOCIALLY-AWKWARD ROBOTS NEVER LAUGH! OR DO THEY?!” Louis said surprised. I hit him playfully in the arm. 

“Ha-ha! Very funny,” I said as I stuck my tongue out. “You guys are mean.”

“What did you expect? It’s a good thing I’m here to save you, huh? ZAYN’S GONNA SAVE YAH TONIGHT!” Zayn screamed, making me laugh even more. I couldn’t stop and I started to laugh hysterically. OKAY I’M SORRY IT’S JUST THAT I DID NOT EXPECT THAT FROM ZAYN. He has been quiet since I met him. I laughed too hard, my sides began to hurt. Moments later,  I did not realize that four pairs of eyes were just staring intently at me. My laughter began to die as soon as I noticed that. When I composed myself, I just sat there. AWKWARD SILENCE. They were staring at me blankly. Judging me probably. NOOOOO I DON’T WANT TO BE JUDGED. THAT IS THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD. I SWEAR, THAT RANKED ONE IN THE LIST OF THINGS THAT I HATE THE MOST.

I bit my lower lip and I looked down, embarrassed. Uhh what do I say. Okay I don’t know.

“Hey guys!” uh PERFECT TIMING. His eyes fell on me and gave me a smile. He noticed the others staring at me and he chuckled.

“Are they always like this?” I said to him

“Always,” he said as he winked at me. OR MAYBE HE WASN’T WINKING. MAYBE THERE WAS JUST DIRT IN HIS EYES. “Don’t worry, daddy knows how to handle this.” lol DID HE SAY DADDY? Must.Not.Laugh. He pulled a chair and sat beside Harry. He snapped his fingers and they acted like a person being brought to reality after being hypnotized.

“Liamm!” They all said in unison. I chuckled, they were too cute. ANYONE WOULD SEE THAT.

“So mind introducing?” He said to the lads. As he took a sip of harry’s coffee. Harry was supposed to protest but not before Liam could cover his mouth. I giggled at them. 

“Clem, This is Liam. I suppose you know that though. And Liam this is Clementine,” Niall introduced us. I gave Liam a smile and mouthed a ‘hi’ to him.

“I see you’ve witnessed one direction at its finest! Nice to meet you,” he said chuckling. He offered his hand and yah. We shook hands. NOT AWKWARD YAY!

“I thought you and Dani were supposed to hang out today?” Harry asked Liam.

“There was a change of plans. Dani was needed for a rehearsal for a performance. So I guess I’ll be spending the day with you guys. I mean if you still have another room for me, that is. Seeing that there’s..”

“NO! It’s alright! I mean I won’t really be spending the day with them, actually I was about to leave – “

“Chill, I was kiddin!” Liam said laughing. Ha-ha.

“You don’t have to leave yet!” Niall said as he locked eyes with mine. I wanted to look away but how could I. His eyes were mesmerizing, I must say.

“Uh..but.. I have to..uh..” I stuttered. I couldn’t form the right words. Eyes. Too distracting. Help.

“Movies?” shit. No way. Did he just. Nah. No. that’s impossible. But I would love to but..but….uh. I’m BUSY. Yes. Let’s stick with that.

“I’m busy. Sorry. Maybe next time, I guess?” I said shrugging.

“Hey, you said I could come with you, right?” Louis said as a wide smile appeared on his face. WHAT. OH YEAH. I FORGOT.  HE DID ASK ME. AND I SAID YES. NICE MOVE, Clementine. Sigh. Niall looked at Louis as if he couldn’t believe what he heard.

“Uh yeah, though you forgot about that,” I said to Louis, rolling my eyes playfully.

“TOUCHMOVE!” Louis said as he wrapped his arms around me, “Ha! THERE IS NO ESCAPE!”  I was caught off-guard and I felt butterflies. I felt uncomfortable of course since all of them were looking at.

“Louis,LET GO OF ME!” I said, squirming. I did not like any second of it.

“NEVER!”

“LOUIIIS!!!!!”

The lads began to laugh. They did not show any intention of helping me.

“I think we should leave the lovebirds alone, no?” Liam said as he slowly stood, signaling everyone to leave as well. LOVEBIRDS? HA-HA VERY FUNNY Liam. I felt like blushing. NO WAY.

“Look everyone, she’s blushing!” Harry pointed his finger to my cheeks and showed the lads. THANK YOU HARRY FOR NOTICING THAT. I gave him a “ha-ha. Very funny” look.

“NIAALLL! HELP ME,” I pleaded to Niall. I guess he was my only chance. I looked at Niall and from the second I made eye contact, I knew there was something bothering him but it immediately faded away. He smiled lightly and waved his hands teasingly. WHAT. HE’S LEAVING ME TOO. FINE.

“Oh! I almost forgot,” Niall said as he handed me my phone. I almost forgot about that. “I beat your high score in temple run, by the way.”

“Niall, nobody plays that anymore!” I said teasingly. Niall mouthed a whatever.

“Bye Louis! We’ll just text each other, kay? Take care of Clem!” Zayn said as he stood up. WTF

The rest of the lads made their way to the doors of the café.

Louis loosened the hug. THANK GOODNESS.

“So where we heading to?” He said with a goofy grin. This will be a long day.
