"Cara, are you listening?" Questioned an older woman who stood over the young mindless girl at the desk
"Wha-?" Cara responded in complete oblivion as she returned to reality
The woman glared in shame at the girl "Cara can you please at least listen for once?" The woman mumbled grumpily
Cara sighed "I'm sorry" She apologized silently
The woman shook her head then turned her attention back to the rest of the class "This is your last year, you are no longer little teens. You are adults" The woman announced "You choose what you want to do with your life the day you walk off that stage with your diploma, you understand class?"
Cara began to think once again, the words that came out of her teachers mouth really made her deep in thought. She sat there with her eyes on the wall while her imagination engulfed her brain. She thought of herself as a model, or an actress but that was all just a dream. She knew she could not achieve her dreams like that, she refused to go to college though for to her it was all overrated maybe she could have a chance but how?
'Ding' The last bell of the day rang.
Cara sprung from her desk and ran down the halls to the front of the school so she could meet up with her friends.
"Hey guys" She smiled widely as she approached her friend Hannah and Crystal.
The two girls turned their heads returning a wide smile back "Hey" They greeted in unison
Hannah flipped her red silky hair away from her face while she quickly spoke up "Crystal ad I were talking about going to L.A for a day at a party the day before, the day before graduation day" she informed Cara
Crystal finished Hannah's sentence "Wanna come?" She offered "Justin Bieber, G-eazy, Shawn Mendes, and Melanie Martinez will be there" she chimed with a wink
Cara was a good girl, she had never been to a party. She had never been out of her small town either so she was a bit embarrassed to admit that to her friends "I-uh" She thought of what her adoptive parents would say. "I can't" Cara slowly declined
Hannah began playing with Cara's hair "As long as you don't drink you'll be fine, we won't even drink" Hannah tried to get Cara to change her mind.
Cara felt pressured even though her friends were not really pressuring her. Honestly she did not want to graduate as an innocent girl, not that she wanted to real bad stuff, she just wanted to be a rebel for once in her life "Fine" She lifted her smile back up
Hannah and Crystal cheered "Yay, so we'll leave at 7pm and we'll arrive there at 9pm" Crystal explained to both Hannah and Cara
The red head nodded excitedly "Cool, I'll tell my parents we'll be having a slumber party at yours"
Crystal agreed "I'll set it up and get my parents to help keep our secret" Crystal giggled
"Only you" Hannah chuckled slightly while she gently released Cara's hair
/The Party Night/
Cara Felt bad about lying to her adoptive parents but this was her time to test out the life she had been missing or had she?
She sat in the back of her friends Toyota resting her head upon the glass of the window thinking only about her future. This was her last day as a highschooler but she felt no different.
"We're almost there" Her friend Crystal reminded them from the drivers seat.
As they drove through downtown L.A Cara watched the lights, groups of people, and the buildings pass by her window. It reminded her of the time she visited New York when she was 10 and when she was just adopted. It was quite a change for her and maybe this was to be a change for her to.
