After being released from a remand home where he spent three years for a crime he didn't commit, Sylvester (Silver) decides to keep away from anyone that's not family because he believes they can't be trusted. He moves with his family to Denver to get away from his problems and then, he meets Gold.
Gold isn't having a lovely life either. She deals with depression, a low self-esteem and the strain of her father leaving the family. So when she meets the new boy, Silver, who's a social outcast, they bond over their mutual feeling of insecurity around strangers and slowly develop a beautiful friendship.
Secrets from their past, fears and a little emotion begin to surface, some threatening the happiness they share, and some urging them on. Can they hold on long enough to save each other or are they doomed to spend their lives alone?

Lovelies, trust me this is a extremely good book to start off with. The author has some great talent and it very good at writing.
This is kind of a sad book, but it gets better as you read along. Obviously for the fact that someone had to be convicted of a crime they didn't even do, however this builds the story more and causes there to be diversity.
