[Reyna's POV]

"REYNA!"

I jolt awake within a heartbeat, blood pumping fast, my palms sweaty as I eye my surroundings. The world seems to be spinning, which makes it quite hard for my vision to focus, but I manage to spot the blurry, distinctive figure of a familiar blonde haired boy, the faint image of a girl with pigtails standing behind him. The boy's hands grips my wrists. My pulse thumps wildly against his white fingertips. Outside heavy, thick drops of rain pounds against the glass, almost threatening to blast a whole through the fragile window. The sky is painted with pitch black and navy blue clouds, flecks of lightning striking through the dark puffs of coal. The deafening sound of thunder follows right after, shaking...

Wait. Were we in a train? Well, that explains why I was being tossed around in my seat, the boy's grasp barely being able to keep me upright from the bumping seat I sit in.

"Yeah, I'm-a here, America," I respond, straightening up from my slumping position to give a weak smile to the girl behind him, her violet eyes clouded with fear. "Are-a you alright, Maddie?"

"Yes, I'm fine. What about you? You stayed sleeping longer than any of us?"

The ride's beginning to simmer down by now, and the storm that train had been caught in was vanishing. Still, my vision was now clearer and only the dribble of rain disrupts the silence. This time, as I steady my racing heartbeat, I form a bright smile on my lips that calms Madison's worried expression.

"Trust me, I'm-a perfectly fine. And Al, I-a never knew you could actually-a look so concerned for me," I tease with a giggle as America sighs with relief, releasing his grip on my wrists, smiling a bit while he makes his way to his seat ahead of me, beside Madison. "Anyway, are the-a countries in the same-a position as us? Where-a are we?"

"When Maddie and I first woke up, you were still sleeping and the train we're on right now was just on the rail, it wasn't moving or anything. For some reason, Japan knows how to drive a train, so we went to the nearest town and they..." America pauses, quickly glancing at the door before leaning in and whispering. "Kinda held us capture. We have to 'stay inside until further notice'."

"What?!"

"You should've seen him, England and Germany. They-"

"Oh right!" His eyes lit up with excitement as he grins. "We totally beat them up, there was these two really weird people...well, one of them probably wasn't even human. One was this creepy guy with these sharp eyes, like Alice. He was the one that told found us first. Then, Iggybrows, Germany and I tried to fight this dude, we were throwing all these punches and kicking him and stuff, but then this huge giant dude grabbed us and now we're all in this train."

"Quite a story." I say with a sigh, leaning against the leather chair and looking around. The book was on my right, closed shut, and three cages covered with dusty cloths was to my left. America and Madison were squeezed against the right because a bunch of bags and books were stacked on the chair to their left.

I run a hand along one of the cages, tugging it off and bursting into a warm smile. A beautiful golden eagle perches on a silver bar, a wing outstretched and ruffling out its soft brown feathers, yellow claws scraping along the bar, its sharp, golden eyes staring right into my soul.

"When we first woke up, those were there, too. I just have a snowy owl," Madison says, opening the cage, letting a snow white owl with flecks of black along the tips of its wings and its feathered back out and shyly petting its head. "I named her Agatha."

I unlock the cage door of the golden eagle, letting the glorious bird take flight and soar across the room. I lightly whistle, the bird focusing its eyes on my shoulder and landing on it, folding its wings. I stroke its chest, puffed with pride, and think up a name. "I think I'll call him...Aquila."

"Oh right!" America exclaims, tossing the cloth on his cage aside and opening up the cage for a tamed, bald eagle to land on his forearm. "That's where I got the idea of using an eagle for my national bird! He's Scout, y'know, like an Eagle Scout."

I continue to get to know Aquila, who is quite the playful golden eagle. Suddenly he hovers from my shoulder, his eyes alert and filled with caution. Scout lets out a loud, warning caw, and Agatha's feathers ruffle nervously as she spreads her white, jet black tipped wings. Aquila flys over the window and starts to urgently peck at it with his beak. I peek behind his head and spot something pretty interesting.

It was an amazing structure: towers, shadowed by the dark night that rips along land that slopes downward and ascends upward, torches lit with dancing golden flames that illuminated the outside of the castle-like architecture. Thick, heavy fog hovers over navy blue waters that stretched all the way to the front of the beautiful building.

The door suddenly whips open to reveal the giant man (creature? I had no idea) that America had been talking about. Since he was the one that got America, England, and Germany to stop revolting, he sent my nerves into a cautious storm that wouldn't settle...until he flashes a grin and said a single phrase that got my head spinning,

"Welcome to Hogwarts."
