Chapter 4

"Okay - Lilies 101" Willow broke the silence, the new girl would need to know how things worked among the Lilies or she could end up getting into serious trouble. The blue eyed girl nodded, that wouldnt do - Tiger petals were loud and proud... Except Kai who was way too serious all the time. The two girls were making their way down a long corridor with white walls and white marble flooring, there were a few door lining the walls but Willow wasn interested in any of those, at the very end there was a turning they hadn reached yet. "Its almost like a food chain" She grinned to herself at the thought, "At the top with the most power are the Dragons - Their Lily is the blondie you saw back when you first arrived, avoid them." Willow gave her a serious look, "Until, that is, you KNOW you can whoop their asses - otherwise its just embarrassing to all of us if you get beat" She gave a wink to show she was joking, "But seriously we Tigers are ridiculously competitive - second only to the Ox Petals and their Lily" She smiled at the thought - Willow loved the Ox guys, they weren't all that mature but good fun at the end of the day! "Wait... where did i get to?" She tapped her chin a few times, "Top is Dragons with their Lily Kim, just beneath are Tigers with me as Lily" She jerked a thumb at her chest and smiled, "Then beneath us Tigers are the Birds and Ox with Hayley and Justin" She paused to let the young girl take it all in, and her eyes widened ever so slightly in surprise when the girl spoke,

"Which is above which?" The question confused Willow and she slowed her strides.

"Hmm?"

"Ox or Bird?" Willow noticed that Jade was making sure to stay a few steps behind her at all times, she liked the respect but it really wasn't necessary.

"Those two are equal - as are the two below them, Monkey and Bear" Willow stopped suddenly and Jade halted simultaneously, Willow smiled - This girl was good. "The Monkey Lily is Nick and the Bear is Doug" She took a step back and Jade matched her in perfect timing. "Will you please stand next to me? You should treat you're Lily as you're friend!" Willow tilted her head slightly, "Although most of my Petals treat me as a mum" She gave a warm smile.

"O-okay" Jade blushed slightly,

"Call me Willow, please" She began walking again but this time the blue eyed girl was at her side, playing with her copper hair that swung with each step, brushing along her shoulder blades.As they approached the corner two identical girls appeared, moving in complete synchronisation. Willow smiled as she recognised her second and third Petals, "Well hello there girlies" Willow winked at them happily.

"Hello Mother Dearest" The spoke in unison, their faces both held the same confident smile - perfectly matched on both pale faces. In all the years Willow had known the girls (Only three) she still hadnt quite unlocked their real personalities, around the Lilies they acted cool and confident, in the company of Petals they were silly and childish... and on the battlefield they were deadly. Quite the all rounded girls. The twins preferred wearing their uniforms around other Petals and were dressed so with their elbow length sleeves and matching green bracelets. Willow watched as they turned their gaze to Jade and smiled, Willow could see a hint of evil behind it and shook her head exasperatedly.

"Girls" Her voice was stern but not angry, in all honesty she still struggled telling the identical girls apart. for a while Carmen had pierced ears and Cassie did not which was good... Then it seemed they decided they didn't like being told apart anymore as less than a month later Cassie had matching silver stars. Willow noticed she wasn't the only one walking around with her ears and tail poking out and lifted her eyes to glance at the piercings in their Tiger ears, as usual they matched with a single small silver hoop on each ear.

Not many Petals kept their piercings as they were still there even if you switched forms... And piercings on animals just didn't look right - especially belly button rings (A very unfortunate incident with a Monkey Petal that all who witnessed will take to their grave pretending it never happened) But there were a few pierced ears about...

"Yes Mummy?" Their voices sweet like honey, batting their dark eyelashes that matched their jet black hair, they both had their tied in a loose plait which reached halfway down their back and their fringes pinned back to the top of their heads. One of the things Willow had first noticed about the two girls when they first became Petals (Back in the day when she too was a Petal) was their bright eyes, Willow's were green but hers were a dark forest green - Theirs were a bright radioactive colour that was hard to draw your eyes away from. She looked into the left twins eyes then,

"Be nice" she stared each twin down before introducing her newest Petal, "This" she gestured to Jade with her hand, "Is our new Petal five"

Okay - I'm getting even more confusing,

But it's just because it's the beginning where everything had to be explained!
