Out in the shivering sea, the water glistened in the moonlight as the clock had now struck twelve. Most of the crew were asleep and the two people that were awake was the navigator piloting the ship and the ships captain, Captain William Scott. Captain Scott was very well known and had been sailing with his crew for over twenty good years with his ship The Majestic Maiden. He and his crew had been through many adventures over the years. From storms and sea monsters to pirates and navy.
The captain was in his chamber when the navigator shouted to him from the deck. He rushed topside. "What is it lad?" The man pointed to the starboard side of the ship. "Captain, I don't think that will be of any assistance to us, seeing as we are already five days behind schedule." Captain Scott looked to where the lad pointed and to his eyes was the worse storm he had ever seen in life. Clouds so dark you could barely see them in the night, rain looked like shards of glass, lightning as bright as the sun and thunder as loud and one hundred cannons firing. "That storm is going to either be my best test of being captain or my death." The navigator looked at him and asked. "Captain, what do we do? There is no land for miles around and that storm is coming in fast." Captain Will got a devilish smile on his face and death in his eyes. "We sail straight for it. I will alert the crew. Just make sure we are heading directly at the bastard." The navigator's face was filled with terror and said in a very faint voice. "Aye Aye Captain." For he had never questioned the captain's orders before, but was skeptical that the captain has lost some sense in his old age.
The Captain rushed to the bunks below. "Wake up. We have a storm to fight. Everyone get up.!" The captain rushed to the upper deck to see possible death staring him in the deep in the eyes. He walked over to the navigator and asked. "Have you ever seen a storm so beautiful in all our years of sailing. I must say this is by far the biggest and most beautiful storm I have ever seen." The men had reached topside, most of them half asleep. When they saw the storm ahead most of them dropped to their knees in prayer before they rushed to their posts. "Ready captain. We're waiting on your command." The men stood waiting. The captain looked at all of them and said. "This maybe the last time you all see me, for this storm may take this ship with me down to the depths below. If we all stick together and work as we have worked over the past twenty-three years, we will make it through and be alive to tell the tail. Now I want all sails open and ready. We may be able to use her winds to carry us through and make up for the five days we are behind." "AYE AYE CAPTAIN!" The entire crew shouted just before they hoisted the sails and held on for dare life.
