I slumped my sore body on a soft leather couch in my office. After having a conversation with Vincent, I began to think why it's supposed to be me moving there? There're so many more good detectives in this department. I know that I'm the head of the department, but the head should be the one staying in the department, am I right?
Talking to that brat Vincent does requires a lot of energy, doesn't it? I couldn't understand him at all no matter how hard I've tried. It's pointless on trying to understand him. He always got an unexecuted plan in his mind and all of those plans are unpredictable.
"Mr. Spencer, are you alright? You seems to be very tired," Nathan came with a cup of coffee as he handed it to me carefully. Well, I often feel like Nathan is my secretary, not a subordinate.
This time an Espresso? Nice. Nathan always know my preference.
"I'm perfectly fine. That damn Vincent is just too annoying to deal with," I sighed as I sipped my freshly brewed coffee. The scent of the coffee can calm my nerves a bit.
Nathan should be a barista instead. Well, he's not suited to be a police at all. I wonder why he wants to be a police so bad.
"What did Mr. Vincent said, sir?" Nathan broke my train of thoughts. I blinked twice as I got back to my senses.
"He will move me to the new detective department," I sighed as I set my cup down on my black wooden table. My office is rather simple comparing to Vincent's. All the walls are painted in black and the light is dim since I don't really like bright places while Vincent's walls are wine red and all the lights in his room came from the sunlight. My eyes will ache whenever I get into his office.
"What? That new department? Why he needs you there? That department is just too dangerous!" Nathan exclaimed. Actually, I do expect this reaction from him since he's such a scaredy cat. I'm not surprised at all.
"What's wrong with that department?" I tried to avoid telling him why did Vincent wants to send me there since I don't know the reason either. But, a guy like Vincent should have an important reason behind it. He's not the type that'll risk someone's life for no reason.
"Sir, did you ever heard about the rumor of the new department?" Nathan continued. He seems to be more scared than I am.
Actually, I'm not scared at all. I left all my fears behind even before I become a police. There's nothing to be scared of anyways. This is just moving to a more dangerous department. There's no words such as dangerous in my own dictionary ever since I was born.
"No. You do know that I don't care about the rumors, right?" I crossed my arms as I rolled my eyes to his direction. Rumors are such a waste of time for me to care about. Ninety percent of them are made up stories. Why do I need to pay attention to it anyways?
Nathan shivered as he starts to fidget his fingers again. He slowly nodded and looked down to his feet. I'm not that scary so why did he need to be scared of me? I'm not a scary person to begin with. I'll be scary when necessary, but I never show that side to Nathan or else he might get a heart attack.
Now I am very curious why did Nathan wants to be a police.
"Fine. What's with the rumors then?" I don't want to scare him more than this. This is already more than enough to begin with.
Nathan sure is a scaredy cat, but this time he seems to be more scared than usual. Still, rumors are just rumors. It's not like it'll become true anyways. I only believe in facts.
"Well, many detectives from our current department had moved to the new one. All of them survive there no longer than a week."
"What do you mean by survive no longer than a week?"
