The teacher stopped speaking and various heads turned to look at her. Quinn cringed as the wooden door slammed shut behind her. She hadnt meant to do it. The teacher jumped her eyes brightening. Something had come to her mind Quinn supposed.

"Oh! You must be the new girl! Quinn right?.."

The teachers voice was soft , almost melodic. Quinn glanced around the room nervously before her eyes fell back upon the teacher. She noded a curt gesture. She just wanted to get it over with. The teacher was tall. Even without her 3 inch heels you could tell she was around 6'2. Her blonde hair was tied in a ponytail out of her green eyes. She was young, Quin guessed her to be in her early 20s....Not much older than the rest of them. Odd. She gestured for Quinn to come stand next to her at the front of the large room. Hesitantly Quinn stepped forward before walking to the womans side.

"Well Quinn I am Mrs. Belmont your ELA teacher for this year..... why dont you tell us a bit about yourself?"

Mrs. Belmont gently touched Quinn's upper before stepping away. Quinn resisted the urge to hide when a few boys from around the room cat called as she looked up. SHe clutched her books tighter wishing she could just disappear...

"Get on with it."

A boy spoke his gruff voice causing Quinn to flinch. Her eyes met the voices owners. They were hazel and dull. His blonde curly hair flopped into his face as he leaned forward on his elbows. He raised an eyebrow at her moving his hand in a sweeping motion.

"You heard me...Get on with it."

Mrs. Belmont shot him as well as a few boys who began laughing a crude glare. They silenced immediately. Big talk for a boy afraid of an ELA teacher.

"Go on ..."

Mrs. Belmont whispered encouragingly. Quinn breathed in a deep breath. Exhaling she began.

"I uhm..Im Quinn  Abernanchy , Im from Sacramento California....Im seventeen ..."

She stopped. There was nothing else left to say. Before Mrs. Belmont could tell her to go on she turned to the woman.

"Might I ask where I will be sitting?"

Quinn inquired with a soft smile. Although the smile faded as the blonde pointed to the desk next to the rude blonde from before.

"Right next to mister Elijah Parker, and if he bothers you tell me....He will be punished."

"Is that a threat or a promise?"

Elijah spoke defiantly causing the teacher to glare at him murderously. Quinn walked silently to the back of the room ignoring the whispers of the people around her as she walked closer to her desk. As soon as she reached it she carefully placed her books on the smooth wooden surface before sliding into the metal chair. She could feel him glance at her. His eyes trailing over her bookbag she haphazardly threw on the tile floor close to the desk.

"Welcome to ELA fish bait."

He muttered with a smirk before leaning back in his chair eyes trained on the board as Mrs Belmont began to furiously scribble notes on it. He raised his hands resting them on the back of his head. Quinn furrowed her brows in confusion before quickly pulling out a notebook and pencil. Despite the odd looks the rest of the class were giving her she began to copy the notes on the board silently. She blinked her blue eyes beginning to dry . SHe winced a hand raising to touch her closed lids. She heard Elijah chuckle behind her.

"Slow down book worm. Your gonna write your hand off."

He was mocking her. Not in a cute funny way. He was trying to be cruel. To earn her hate. Clearly that all he wanted out of anyone.

"Just leave me alone.Please."

She was pleading with him now , she didnt want to be acknowledged. She was there because she had to be. Not because she wanted to be. Quinn was going to make sure he an everyone else knew so as well. She could practically feel the holes he was burning into her back as she wrote and listened to the teacher as she spoke.

Quinn glanced up at the clock right as the bell rang. Before she could think of something to say Elijah had grabbed his black bookbag off of his chair,as well as his notebook and was out of there. Leaving her looking down at her book bag silently. Angrily she shoved her books into the bag before glancing at her schedule.

'Math'

Yet another subject she hated. With a sigh she stepped up to a few of the girls that where still in the classroom her bag clutched tightly in her left hand, schedule in the other.

"Do you mind telling me where room 217 is?"
