Authors note: I just quickly wanted to thank all those that read and support this story. I have already written the first ten chapter of this book and I look forward to reading your reactions xx
When we pulled up to the bar I would be lying if I said I was not intimidated. It was called Lab 40, a very posh bar that I would never normally dream of stepping foot in. There were crowds of people everywhere, lining up as far as the eye could see. My already low mood plummeted when I saw this, knowing we would be lining up for hours and it was freezing outside.
I thought half my night was going to be spent on the streets, taking one step forward every few minutes as the line moved. Thankfully David went up to the bouncers and our names where on the list thanks to his famous friend. We were ushered straight inside which was a great surprise to me, I was not use to being treated as a 'someone'. However as soon as we were inside I wanted to leave.
"David, I can't do this! I feel claustrophobic!" I yelled at him, praying he could hear me over the loud music that was blasting in the bar. He clearly didn't fully understand me because all he did was smile at me kept walking through the crowds.
Lab 40 was clearly a very large rich bar and the chandelier lights screamed opulence. On an average day I think I might have liked this place, but with a NHL team in the house, every man and his dog was here. I literally could not raise my arms, thanks to the bodies all being crammed inside this place. Looking over the dance floor all I saw was a sea of people dancing, all crammed together like sardines. It was also so hot that even with the large overhead fans on and the winter cold winds outside, I still felt like a lobster in a pot, slowly being boiled alive. I was way out of my element being in this place, making my heart hammer in my chest. It was all just too much.
I was in my own world, panicking slightly, when I realized I had lost my big oaf of a brother. Just great. With people everywhere I had no idea which way to go, everywhere I looked it was just more sea's of drunk people. Not being sure what to do I made my way to the edge of the bar, where I got out my phone and text David, asking where he was. Five minute past and I was still yet to receive a reply. Not only was I hot, but now I felt like an outcast loser. Standing by the wall, playing with my phone, I could feel all the eyes on me. I knew everyone was wondering what a girl like me would be here alone. I bet they thought I was some sort of freak, since every other girl in this place had donned the typical dress and heels combination.. I decided not to dwell on it though and instead thought I would go search for David a while longer. Really all I wanted to do was leave but I could not do that without knowing he was safe.
I spent a solid ten minutes looking for him when I decided I needed a break from all these people. Like any woman in my situation would do, I escaped to the bathroom. It took me a while to locate them but once I found the long empty corridor that lead to the toilets, I felt a little better. At least now I could finally move my arms away from my body without hitting someone. I managed to freshen up a little and felt better once I had washed away the sweat that was dripping down my face, back and neck.
I was busy texting on my phone, harassing David about ditching me, when I collided with someone. My phone went hurdling towards the ground and with my major lack of co-ordination, I was quickly following it. I squealed and closed my eyes, preparing for the impact I was bound to feel when two strong arm wrapped around my waist, bringing me into a solid wall of muscle.
"Whoa girl, watch where your going?!" Muttered a husky voice, clearly irritated.
His voice made me open my eyes. It was a deep but soft voice, the kind that made my heart skip a beat and my ovaries melt. He could have been a phone sex operator.
I felt like I had swallowed my tongue when I looked up and saw his face, he was hot! To bad he was looking at me like I was the carrier of an infectious disease.
