Cecil: Listeners, I am having trouble with my relationship. And I know that I shouldn't be talking about this. After all, this is a community radio show, and not the Cecil's Life show. So I shouldn't even be telling you at all! But oh well.

Listeners, Carlos, you know my boyfriend? He believes in angels! I know it's illegal to but he still does. Can you believe that? It's just so bad, yet I am so turned on right now! I'm already turned on by him on a daily basis, but why does his bad boyish behavior turn me on even more? It gives me the shivers, Listeners.

It is now that time that I have to leave you all to pretend to be sleeping. Tomorrow is just a phrase we use for the future that we know nothing about. Yesterday is just a word we use for the past that we know too much of. Now is the meaning of the today that we live in. Goodnight, Night Vale. Goodnight.

Cecil set the papers down and rubbed his eyes. It was around 8 in the afternoon. Or was it? You can't really tell time in Night Vale. He stood up stretching his limbs from the time spent sitting at the desk. His phone started to ring. It was Carlos. Immediately, Cecil answered, all the tiredness he felt was gone.

"Hello?" Cecil said softly into the phone.

"Hello? Cecil?" The familiar caramel voice answered.

"Yes, Carlos?"

"Oh good it's you, Cecil. I was calling to ask if you wanted to go to the Moonlite All-Nite Diner tonight for dinner, maybe? We ran out of spaghetti sauce and it's a little too late to run and get some."

"That sounds great, Carlos. I'll meet you at home?"

"Actually I'm still at the lab trying to write a report on the angels. Could you meet me at the lab?"

"Yeah, sure. Anything for you, Carlos."

"Thanks, Cecil. I love you."

"I love you too, Carlos."

The phone hung up. Cecil stuffed his phone into his pocket and threw his coffee in the trash bin under the desk. He turned off the lights in the studio and walked out into the fresh air. He looked around. It was kind of dark for 8 in the afternoon, or whatever time it was in Night Vale. He brushed his hands through his black and platinum blond hair, and started walking to the lab. When he got there, Carlos was already walking out with his perfect hair and his perfect everything. Cecil's heart rate increased, as it did every time he was around Carlos.

"Oh, hey, Cecil!" Carlos said in a cheery voice. "Ready to go?"

"Yes. Moonlite?" Cecil tried to answer in a cool voice after a few silent seconds of staring at his boyfriend.

"Right. So how was work? I could only listen to the ending. I turned the radio on a little too late." Carlos stated as they started walking towards the Moonlite All-Nite Diner.

"Oh it was just the usual, you know. Old Woman Josie, the 'angels', and just the usual Night Vale community radio talk. How was your day at the lab?"

"Oh it was okay. I tried to tell the other scientists that the angels do exist, but they just turned away every time I said the word 'angel'. I think it has to do with the law against angels, Cecil. What do you think?"

"I think that a scientist and his word is true. It's factual. It's neat!" Cecil did not know how to respond to what Carlos was saying, because he chose not to believe in angels, and he didn't want to hurt Carlos's feelings.

"I know you don't believe in angels, Cecil." Cecil winced at the word. "It's okay. You don't have to lie to me. I won't judge you, Cecil. I love you." And Carlos leaned in and kissed Cecil with so much passion that Cecil forgot every thought that was running through his mind. After about 3-5 seconds, Carlos pulled away.

"I love you, too, Carlos." Cecil replied after a few moments of just walking. Carlos wrapped his arm around Cecil's waist, and they continued walking. When they got there, Carlos opened the door for them and walked in. The fresh smell of coffee rang through the air. They took a table near the window and ordered their food. They both ordered a regular cheeseburger and a milkshake to accompany it. The milkshake came first. Cecil lazily sipped it and listened as his boyfriend was going on and on about the science of clouds. He stared adoringly at how excited Carlos was about precipitation. How Carlos always believed in things that were illegal to believe in. And just how perfectly different he was.

"So that's the science of clouds," Carlos said as he finished. The food came shortly after he finished, and Cecil set the milkshake aside.

"Carlos, do you believe in angels?" Cecil asked afterwards.

"Of course I do, Cecil. Why?"

"Where do these 'angels'  come from?" Cecil was curious about why Carlos believed, but he didn't want to say that. Instead he asked what he asked.

"I don't know, Cecil. But I just believe in them. Do you believe in them?"

"I don't really know, Carlos."

"How's your food?" Carlos decided to change the subject after a few moment of them chewing. Cecil thought it was because he was uncomfortable on the subject. Carlos, was in fact, very comfortable with the subject, but he thought Cecil was uncomfortable.

"Oh, it's pretty good. After all, it's the Moonlite All-Nite Diner. Their food is great. How about yours?"

"It's pretty good, Cecil."

The door opened and Old Woman Josie walked in. "Oh hello, boys," she greeted. They said hello back and she left them to her dinner. The rest of dinner consisted of Carlos talking about how he still doesn't know what time it really is, and Cecil trying to tell him that time is just a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff. After dinner, Cecil paid for their meal (even though Carlos argued that Cecil paid last time they ate out). Cecil whispered "check please" into the drinking glass and lifted the tray of sugar packets to find the check like you are supposed to do when paying at the Moonlite All-Nite Dinner. He set the payment on top of the check and put it back under the sugar tray. The sound of slurping was heard, and they left the diner.

Their walk home consisted of Carlos's arm around Cecil and Cecil talking on and on about how Kkoshekh the floating cat in the men's bathroom. When they got home, they changed and got into bed. Cecil was the little spoon, and Carlos was the big spoon. They got into their usual sleeping position and started drifting off.

"Goodnight, Cecil." Carlos said in a sleepy voice.

"Goodnight, Carlos." Cecil replied in the same sleepy voice.

"I love you, Cecil."

"I love you, too, Carlos."

And they slept soundly.
