Lucy's P.O.V
Silence fell across the room as I they noticed me slowly opening the door. I turn to close the large green slab as quietly as I can. Their eyes tracked me like they were owls and I was a helpless mouse scuttling across the forest floor. I awkwardly shuffle to the back of the class to one of a couple empty seats. The quiet slowly began to disintegrate, and the techi room was filled with the sound of chatting teenagers.
"She must be the new girl that Mr. Anderson was going on about" someone said, not thinking I would notice. I took an awkward side glance to look at the source of the voice. A boy with bright crimson hair was looking in my direction, but quickly turned his head when he spotted me looking. I look away too.
Swivelling round on the chair, I reach down to my back and open the front pouch. I pull out my phone and head phones and plug them in to my ears. Green day, Jesus of Suburbia. I slightly nod my head along to the beat, completely cutting myself out from the rest of the class.
Out of no where, a boy with long black hair rolled along on his chair right up beside me. Taken by surprise, I jumped and my chair bumped into the desk behind me. He had deep hazel coloured eyes, and a rather pale complexion. A black ring piercing guarded the bottom left of his lip. A sly smirk formed.
"Nice piercing." He said, nodding to my lip. I lifted my hand to my lip to feel the black stud on the right of my bottom lip.
Shyly, I let out a small "Thanks."
He turned the chair so his body faced me. "So, you're new here? What's your name?" The boy queried.
"Lucy." I reply. Why is this guy even talking to me? I've not even been in this room for 5 minutes and I'm already being talked to.
"Nice to meet you, Lucy. The name's Frank." He beamed, holding out his hand. I look at him awkwardly, and then down at his hand. I slowly move my hand to his and shake it.
"Do you know what you're in first?" Frank asked me. Come to think of it, I didn't. "If you don't have your time table, Mr. Anderson, who is our regi teacher if you don't already know, should have it. Just go up and ask him for it."
Shit. I really don't want to have to go and walk to the front. Well, if I don't, I'll have no idea where I'm going and probably get in trouble, which I really don't want on the first day. I slowly stand up, and make my way towards the teachers desk. The sound of chatting slightly quietened as I walked to the front of the class. Many eyes followed me on my way, but returned to the faces of their friends almost immediately.
"Uh, excuse me, Mr. Anderson? I was told I was able to get my timetable from you?" I inquire
"Ah, you must be Lucy." He replied looking up and me from his computer. He was rather young, mid twenties probably. He had short brown hair and icy blue eyes. "Yes, I do have your timetable, and it is right..." He trailed off, rummaging through a pile of paper on his desk "...here!" He exclaimed, handing the gridded paper to me. I took it and studied the classes. Today was Tuesday, so what have I got first... Biology? I let out a small sigh. "I see you've got Frank talking to you." Mr Anderson said, looking over at the black haired boy.
"Yea." I murmur. Frank sat with three other boys. One had blonde hair, partially hidden under a wine coloured beanie. Another had long straight hair and a pair of rectangular glasses propped up on the bridge of his nose. The last had full lips and dark brown eyes, but most noticeably, thick brown hair that almost reached his shoulders.
"I'd be careful around Frank," Mr. Anderson laughed. "He tends to be quite the trouble maker." I look back over at Frank, and notice him playfully punching the boy with the beanie in the arm and laughing, mouth wide open.
"Sure." I reply, and make my way back to my seat.
"Hey, Lucy!" A voice shouts. Frank waves me over to his group of friends. I wheel myself over to his side. "Lucy! I want to introduce you to my friends!" He smiled "This is Gerard," gesturing his hand towards the boy with the beanie. Gerard gave a quick smile. "And this is his brother, Mikey." Mikey looked up from his phone and pushed his glasses up.
"Hello." He spoke, and quickly reverted his attention back to the screen in his lap.
"And finally, this is Ray."
"Heyo." He smiled.
"Uh, hey, I'm Lucy. I transferred from Stonemoore Academy." I explain, I feel a small smile form on my face.
"Oh yea. Did you find out what you have first?" Frank questioned.
"Hmm? Oh yea. I'm in biology first with..." I scan the paper and find the teachers name "Mrs Grant. Do you know anyone in that class." I ask
"Oh you're in my class," Gerard chimed in. "You're also with Josh and Melissa who are at my bench. There's an empty seat beside me though, so you'll have someone to talk to."
I cocked my head to the right. "Who are Josh and Melissa?"
Frank pointed to the the bottom of the room. Two people sat beside eachother in deep conversation. It was the boy with the red hair that I heard speaking about me before. Beside him must have been Melissa. They had short auburn hair and freckles on their cheeks. They looked lovingly at Josh and buried their head in his chest.
"Completely in love, been together for a couple of years now." Frank sighed.
"They look like they suit eachother" I reply.
The sound of the school bell went off and everyone picked up their bags and made their way to the door. I walk with Frank and his friends to the door.
"See ya later, maybe." Frank stated.
We went our separate paths, but Gerard and I started to walk our way up to the science department.
