Endangered

Lexi and Diego were sleeping on a velvet pillow when the sound of their mom woke them up. Lexi and Diego were siblings that were not as close as you would expect. Lexi who was 11 years old was born in Sonsonate, El Salvador. She had long brown hair and black eyes. She was skinny and medium sized. Diego who was 10 was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador. He had short brown hair also with black eyes. He was skinny but short. Their dad Christopher Escobar was deported from America and sent to prison in El Salvador for multiple crimes. Their mom Joselyn was born in Yoro, Honduras and had blondish hair with strands of brown. She was tall and somewhat thick. The family (not including the father) was very religious. Once every week or so the three would go into a empty parking lot and light up candles. They wore fine religious jewelry and religious clothing. They even read the bible out loud.

" Lexi! Diego! Wake up,it's time to go to school!" Said their mother. "Ok." Said Lexi. As the two siblings got up they quickly got dressed and got themselves ready. Lexi chose to wear a silk shirt with shorts and sandals while Diego wore a t-shirt with shorts and shoes." Hey mom, what's for breakfast?" Said Diego hungrily. "Eggs with platanos y frijoles." " Yumm!" Said Lexi. "Eat up and ..........hey...have u seen Roselyn?" Said Joselyn. Roselyn was their maid. She had a brown braid and was thin and tall. Since Joselyn has got a job as a doctor she is wealthy. They can afford to get a maid and a small mansion. The family lived in Orange County, California with Rosie of course. "Roselyn!" Called Joselyn. "Yes Ms. Joselyn." Said Roselyn while running to her. "I am terribly sorry! You see-" "Oh it's OK Rosie. We just needed you to clean the children's room." "Oh. Right away Ms. Joselyn." Said Rosie running to the rooms."Okay mom we're done" said Lexi. As soon as Lexi and Diego said bye to Rosie and their mother,they headed out the door.

When they were walking down their driveway they noticed a girl walking down her driveway. The girl was Dunia Muntaserina the meanest girl In the block. Dunia had brown hair and eyes. She was a bit tall and chubby. Lexi was Dunia's friend, but Diego hated Dunia. Dunia would always pick on him and hurt him. But Diego fought back with strong words, even though that didn't stop her."Hey Lexi, who's that dork? Oh yeah Diega!" Said Dunia with a nasty smile. As the kids hopped on the bus they chose their own seats. Lexi sat with Dunia and Diego sat with a random kid on the bus."Hey, don't you ever hit your retarded brother?" Said Dunia. "If he's annoying, but.....not really." "Well if your not going to do it" said Dunia while pulling and pinching Lexi's shirt "Then I will!" Dunia released her shirt so hard that Lexi fell on the bus floor."Dunia!" Screamed Lexi angrily. "Hey! Keep it down back there, I'm driving!" Said the bus driver. "Sorry." Said Dunia politely. By the time the girls stopped arguing, they already had arrived at school. The kids hopped of the bus and went to school.

As Diego and Lexi got their supplies and went to class, Dunia followed them. Dunia sat next to Diego and Lexi sat next to Dunia. When class started, Dunia threw a spitball at the teacher,Ms. Florentine.When Diego wasn't looking, Dunia put the straw on Diego's desk to frame him."Hey! Diego why did you throw that at me?" Screamed Ms. Florentine. "I didn't do anything!" Said Diego confused. "Ms. Florentine, Diego said you suck and that you got dumped because you have anger issues." Said Dunia with a smile. The class held their laughter inside."Diego! You are to get detention all of this month! Are we understood?" Said the teacher. "Yes....we are." said Diego. Later that day at recess Dunia appeared. "What do you want Dunia?" Said Diego. "To kill you!" Dunia pulled out a large knife out of her sweater pocket. The knife was silver and had Dunia engraved on it. "Woah, Dunia you're kidding right!" Said Diego nervously. "No I'm certain that I want to kill you." Said Dunia getting closer and closer. She pulled her hand back with the knife and Diego covered his face.

Rosie had just finished cleaning the children's room and clothes. She was putting away their clothes when she saw a photo of the siblings father."Poor Christopher." She said to herself. She put the photo away and resumed to put the clothes away."Rosie! Come and eat!" Said Joselyn."Ok ya voy!" Said Rosie as she rushed to the large luxurious dining room. There she saw a beautifully cooked meat with lettuce and beans ."Hey Rosie. Good job with the cleaning! I'm impressed!" Said Joselyn ."Oh it's nothing. So........do you know when Christopher comes out?" "Rosie, we're not supposed to talk about this. But.....ok" Rosie scooted her chair closer to Joselyn to hear all of it. "He is supposed to come out.....next year. Don't tell the kids!" "No no! Of course not. You can trust me." Said Rosie cheerfully. "Mmm this is good Ms. Joselyn! Better than mine." "Oh don't be ridiculous, yours is truly good!" Said Joselyn. They both heard a noise that sounded like overflowing water."Oh no! I forgot to turn it off!" Rosie ran downstairs to the washer to see that the water was flooding the whole basement wall to wall."Ay dios miyo." Said Rosie as she fainted and fell in the water.
