Alexius;
Monday's. I love Mondays, now that school is over. Monday's are the best days of my life because I get to do what I love.
Ever since I was in the third grade the world had been clear to me. I could see and remember everything so life was nothing but easy for me. Life was nothing but easy for me because there was no pain of the real world running through me. Every day. Over and over.
I remembered all I said; all the lies I covered up with. I remembered every happy memory on a sad, dark, depressing night where the thunder storms clouded my sleep and washed over me like any other shoreline could show. But, I couldn't quite put my finger on why I couldn't get past this guy.
It was a Monday, and of course, as a given, I got to go job hunting. I needed to do what I love, regardless, but getting payed for it would be exceptional, considering we still need to pay bills and our down payment.
I'm pretty sure Serena and Cori can
manage on there own; they are in the industry together being able to work together, unlike me who has to find someone to help me through it all, considering the books I read on modeling didn't tell me the experience of it all- it only stated the minimal facts. Something I was okay with reading, just bored of reading. But, of course I couldn't help myself. I just had to go find somewhere to model. An agency, commercial, anything. It was Monday and nothing was going to stop me from doing what I love.
I walked outside of the house, giving a friendly smile to the man moving his lawn to my left, and wave at his little daughter who's running in circles around their wide drive.
Walking to my car, I take my keys off, unlocking the doors of the sleek black vehicle, looking at the leather seats inside the car.
"Hey!" I hear someone yell out to me over the lawn mowers noise.
I turn towards the direction of the noise, just to realize it's one of the neighbors, Derek.
I squint to see him clearly, waving his hand as he crosses the street to talk to me, who is not trying not to break the handle of my car because I'm squeezing it with all my might at this point.
"Hi, Derek, right?" I ask the brunette guy standing in front of me with a broad smile plastered all over his handsome face. I extend my hand to formally "meet him" for the second time.
"Yeah, I'm Derek," he confirms as he moves my hand away, hugging me instead.
I chuckle and wrap my arms around him. I let go of his embrace, "So what's up? How can I help you?" I ask him, making him smile.
"Actually, I was wondering if I could help you. Do you need someone to help show you around?" he asks me.
"Not unless you know a modeling agency I can get into in seconds," I laugh.
I look at him, watching every part of him fail to smile. His face drops and be barely musters an "oh," as a response to my profession.
"Not really," he laughs.
"What's so funny?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest, making his eyes direct to my breasts before immediately resting them back onto my eyes.
"Never pegged you as a dumb model," he seemed to giggle as he explained his viewpoint.
"Are you making fun of my profession?" I ask, taking a step forward to stand nose to nose.
"Well it's kinda stupid," he shrugs casually, making me ball my fists up in frustration.
"Yeah?" I ask, "And what do you do? Do you even have a job?" I ask him, furrowing my eyebrows at him.
"Yeah, it's called Being Neighborly," he sasses.
"And you call me stupid? That isn't even a profession dumbass," I tell him, before swinging my car door open and driving to downtown Los Angeles.
