Ash POV

Tonight, we finally play Los Angeles. Yeah, it's still a club, a bit of a bigger club, but still, I've never been to LA before.

"Hey Ashley, you ready?", my best friend Josh says. I look back at him and give him an annoyed look for using my real name. "Yeah. As long as you all are.", "Yeah, just gotta tune real quick then we'll get this show on the road."

Josh has been my best friend since high school. Him, my other good friend Sarah, and I started this band from nothing. It was just an imagination in my head, until Sarah learned the drums and we found out Josh has the voice of a fucking angel and plays rhythm guitar pretty good. I play lead guitar and our other friend, Andrew, plays bass. I play too, but Josh said it would be better if I played guitar because it's just cooler if we had a badass girl guitarist.

As I'm tuning my guitar,  I hear from the stage that they're calling us.

"Get you hands together for, Death Valley!"

Sarah comes up to me before we head out. "Hey, good luck, break a leg.". "Last time you told me that, I actually did break my leg.". It was true. It was a couple of shows back and very painful.

We walk out and people start cheering. It gave me such a rush. Just the cheering of the crowd and people actually singing along made me so excited and made me just want to play forever. When our first song ended, I went to the back of the stage and high fived Sarah, who was on the drums. It's a tradition we had since we were in high school and playing rock band too much. It was just a habit and something that wasn't going away anytime soon.

When I came back, we played our next song, people still singing along. It was a slower song, so it was easier to play, so I didn't need to look at my guitar to see where my fingers needed to go next, so I started looking around more and in the crowd.

When I looked out, I saw these two guys singing along. They looked pretty cool, but in between the two guys, was a shorter guy with red hair. His hair was pretty rad, but he seemed really uninterested. Mostly because he was on his phone.

Because I'm an idiot and I wanted to actually see the guys face, I threw a pick over to his direction. His two friends tried to get it, but it ended up hitting the uninterested guy's head. He looked up finally from his phone and looked around, probably wondering what hit him and where it was from.

I'm guessing his friend told him because he finally looked up and looked at me. We made eye contact and I just smiled and kept playing. The song ended, and I went to the back of the stage to Sarah once again.

When I went back to my spot on the stage, I noticed the once uninterested man was now suddenly interested.

Honestly, he was pretty cute, I mean with the features I could see when the light wasn't in the way. From what I could tell, he had red hair, but only on the top, glasses, darker eyes, maybe brown, and that's it.

He seemed to be looking at me for a while. Hm..there was something about this guy. I don't know what it was, but he seemed different.

Through the show, I kept going back to high five Sarah, playing guitar and looking back at the red haired guy.

The show finally ended and we went off stage and everyone cheered. Josh came up to me and gave me a hug and told us all we did great. Now we were finally off for a couple of days and going to go out and explore LA. Well, tomorrow because it's like 10 and nothing really is open.

I was going to go change when Andrew pulled me to the side.

"Ash, we gotta talk."
