*Cory's P.O.V*
I rested my head in the crook of Xander's neck as we gazed at a small river near the outskirts of town. This wasn't a expensive date, but it was better than going to the movies or something. Just Xander and I alone, no one to discriminate our sexuality.
"You know you look sexy when your focused." He turned slightly, glancing at me out of his left eye, observing me while I stared at the running water.
"I'm always sexy." I smirked, even thought he probably couldn't tell from the position he was in.
"I'm aware of that." He sighed and wrapped an arms around me, pulling me down to the ground. "I'm hungry." He groaned.
"Your the one who brought the food, get it." I rolled my eyes, grabbing the small lunch box he brought and handing it to him. He nudged me with his elbow. He sat back up, bringing me along with him and placing all the food out. I grabbed the yogurt he brought and began eating it. It was gross, but I didn't want to ruin our day. Half the day had already passed, kids would be getting out of school soon. We spent the morning at a little café, then we went back to his house and got the stuff we needed to come here. It had been a generally good and quiet day. Xander was coming over to my house later, his parents agreed to let him stay, I was glad of that. As we finished up our food Xander put the trash back in the box and stood up, holding his hand out for me."Such a gentleman." I groaned, taking his hand. We trudged to the car in a peaceful silence. I slipped in. I wasn't quite sure were we are going so I asked.
"To your house?" Well, snappy. I knew we were going to my house, I didn't think it was gonna be this early though!
"Blah blah blah." I rolled my eyes as a smirk formed on his lips, I waved it off as the car started and we pulled away from the secluded area. I rolled my eyes to myself as 'Roger Rabbit' by Sleeping with Sirens came on once Xander turned on the radio. We sang along quietly as we drove down the road, almost near the road our houses were on. I turned my head so I was staring at the side of Xander, his jawline is hot. We pulled on our road and I glanced back ahead to see a big commotion around..my? House. "What the fuck?.." I mumbled. A crowd was gathered around and two police cars sat there. The porch railing was split, seeming as a body had fell through it. Xander pulled up as close as he could and opened his door, I did the same and proceeded to get to my house. I was almost at the porch when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned my head back to see a police officer with a notepad in his hands.
"You the other kid that lives here?" He asked me. I nodded curiously and he shook his head. "Not anymore. Your parents..." I cringed when he said parents." Well, the woman is dead, knife took to her heart and the man is severely injured." Tears brimmed my eyes as I looked around and caught sight of Xander, I immediately grasped his hand. "You got anywhere to stay until charges are pressed and our father is healed." I looked at Xander and he nodded his head.
"Y-yeah.... Charges? So you know who did this?" I said as best as I could, I was on the brim of spilling into a jumble of tears.
"Yeah, Blane Lorenzo..you know em?" He asked. I clinched my fist together and gritted my teeth. Why would he do this to his own mother?
"Yeah, I know him." With that I turned away and stalked off, dragging Xander with me. I let go of his hand as I trudged over to my side of the car and got in.
