Chapter 1

Marinette POV

I can't believe that I'm late for school again! I fell asleep in my chair after trying and failing to finish my homework last night, yet again. It's becoming like a routine for me and everyone else. Some teachers don't even bother to ask me why I'm late anymore!

Finally I get to school at about 8:06 am. and run into my class room. Of course everyone was staring at me, even Adrien. I tried so hard to not look at Adrien's eyes, but it was as if they were luring me in, so I turned my head and met his eyes accidentally, those green emerald eyes were shining and were sort of flickering with happiness. I was looking straight at Adrien and he was looking at me. A small blush came across my face and I zoned out, but the teacher pulled me out of my zone.

"Marinette, please sit down! You're late again and you're distracting me from teaching the other kids!" My teacher looked at me with rage, so I quickly ran to my desk and sat down next to my best friend Alya.

"I'm really sorry" was all I could mumble out of my mouth. I took out my book and began listening to what the teacher was saying.

~After class~

"Marinette, what's up with you? Why are you always late?" Alya said looking pretty concerned.

"I'm just tired from doing my homework and drawing new designs is all." I lied, well not really, but how was I going to tell Alya that I'm Ladybug and that I fight akumas during the night sometimes?

"Well... maybe you should give up drawing new designs for a week and give that brain of your's a rest, eh?" Alya said while poking my head playfully and giggling.

"Maybe you're right. I should give myself a break..." I sigh and give my best friend a hug.

"Good girl" Alya hugged Marinette tighter, this made Marinette warm inside, she was happy. She had the bestest best friend ever. Alya was her first real friend.

"Alya, do you want to come over today after school?"I asked as I saw her happy face fade to a soft frown.

"Nope. Can't go. I have to babysit my sister" Alya looked in my eyes to see if I was sad about it, but I just nodded, a smirk spreading across my face.

"No worries, next time" I wink at her and we both burst out laughing. Sudenly the bell rang and we went to the next class.

~After school~

I wave to Alya and head towards my house, the smell of sweet pastries tickled my nose. I loved that smell, it made me forget all the troubles that piled up during the day. I started humming a song that's been stuck in my head for a while and continued walking.

"Where is Miss Marinette going?" An angelic voice asked me as I stopped and stiffened. I turn around and as expected I see Adrien smiling brightly at me and walking up to me.

"Well, I'm going um, home" I said trying my best not to blush or stutter. It had taken me soooooooo long to finally teach myself to stop stuttering like a complete idiot in front of him, even if I did it sometimes, it wasn't as bad.

I guess Adrien was also surprised and relieved that I didn't stutter as much.

"Oh, do you want me to walk you home?" He said while rubbing his neck awkwardly. 

"That would be nice, but don't you have a schedule to follow?" I said smirking and letting my Ladybug side show. Adrien looked kind of shocked from my expression, but shook it off.

"Well... I really don't want to go home yet, and my photoshoot has been moved to Thursday, so I wanted to just hang around. Is that ok with you?" He looked into my eyes and had the biggest smile on his face. I felt a blush creep in. Crap.

"O-oh. Of course it's ok!" I squeal happily trying to hide my blush "Maybe you would like to go to the park, we can hang out there".

"That sounds good."

Without another word we head to the park. We both tried to make small talk, so that we could get to know each other a bit.

"Okay, okay. How about this? Would you rather be Chat Noir or Ladybug for a day?" Adrien asked as I stiffened. He looked at me a bit confused. I quickly shook it off and tried to answer the question.

"Um... Hm.." I put my fingers on my chin as if I was thinking.

He doesn't know that I'm Ladybug. He doesn't know that I know Chat Noir. He doesn't know that my feelings for Chat Noir AND Adrien have been growing. He doesn't know that I've been itching to know what Chat is thinking in his cat-pun-filled, cocky and flirty mind.

"I guess I would be Ladybug. She seems cool" I answer lamely and look up at a very red-faced Adrien, my eyes widen.

"Adrien, is everything alright? Do you have a fever?" I ask standing up on my toes (he was insanely tall!) to touch his forehead. "Adrien your're burning up! Do you need to sit down?" I look in his eyes worry written all over my face.

He looked at me and smiled slightly while chuckling lightly. He is so cute!

"Um, yeah. I'm fine." He sighed

"You care about other people a lot, don't you?" Adrien smirked looking so sexy!

"Well, um... yeah, of course I do. I care about my closest friends a lot" I smirk emphasizing the words 'my closest friends' and still looking at him.

Suddenly something happened that I didn't expect at all, Adrien hugged me.

Okay. So this is my very first fanfiction! I'm sorry if my grammar is horrible or something like that, it's because English isn't my first language. I still love this chapter a lot and I'm proud of it!

I just watched the episode "Volpina" with English subs, so now I kind of want to write a one-shot of what happened afterward with Ladybug/Marinette and Chat Noir/Adrien, soooo if you're interested about that, comment down below!
