Cold As Ice, Yet Warm as The Sun

Chapter 3-

"Living? With the wonder cop?!" I thought to myself as me and Tasuku filled out papers for the agreement.
I could hear all of Tasuku's fan girls screaming at me for living with him. Maybe I should keep that a secret.
        "You alright?" Tasuku gave me a worried gaze.
      "A-a little nervous, but I'll be fine." I shook my head to rid myself of all the worries.
      "Anyway, why are you doing so much for me? You helped lower my punishment, and is agreeing for me to live with you, so I can join the Buddy police. Why?"
Tasuku cocked his head to the right in confusion.
      "What are you talking about? I don't feel like I'm doing to much at all. In fact, I feel like I'm not doing enough."
Tasuku signed his name on the last page of the white paged colored packet, and turned it in to the lady at the front desk.
       "Why me of all people though?"
      "I see something special about you. I also don't want you to waste your potential on robbing stores."
Tasuku smiled at me once again.
"Are you trying to flirt with me?"
"What?!"
"Kidding."
I finished up my paperwork and gave it to the same lady at the desk and Tasuku took me outside.
"It's getting late. How about I take you home and you can bring your stuff over my place tomorrow."
"Uhh, sure."
Everything is happening so fast. Just because I took ONE card, I have to live with Tasuku Ryuenji and become part of the buddy police?! Although, I guess I shouldn't complain. I bet a whole bunch of criminals would love to be in my shoes right now.
Tasuku pulled out a card from his deck, and after brightening up like a star, a humongous green dragon appear behind Tasuku.
"AAAaaahh!" I yelled, about to run back inside for help, but Tasuku grabbed my wrist.
"Huhh?"
"Sorry if I scared you, Yuki. This is Jack, my buddy."
"Greetings."
"H-hi." I stuttered, not knowing what to say to all this.
"Ready?"
"Wait a sec, we're riding THAT!!!"
"Rude much?" Jack muttered under his breath.
"Come on." Tasuku climbed on to Jack and held out his hand.
"I'm not getting on that."
"Why not?"
"What if I fall off?!"
"All you have to do is hold on tight."
I took two steps away from the dragon. "Sorry, I just met you today, and I don't think I can really trust you."
Tasuku sweat dropped. He must of thought I was being stubborn or something.
"Fine, see you tomorrow." Tasuku's buddy Jack, flapped his wings so that he was hovering in the sky.
"W-wait! D-don't leave me down here!"
I heard Tasuku chuckle from above and he swooped down on Jack and picked me up bridle style.
"Show off!" I muttered to myself, though I'm pretty sure Tasuku heard my words. He put me down, so that I was sitting on top of the dragon with him.
"So,why didn't you want to climb on Jack before?"
Should I tell him?
"Trust me."
"Why did those same words keep playing over and over in my mind." I wondered.
"Well,your going to think this is stupid.."
"Are you afraid of heights?" Tasuku asked. I shook my head 'no'.
"I'm afraid of dragons. Just a little." I explained, not making eye contact with him.
"Everyone's afraid of something." He spoke.
"What about you? I told you my fear, you tell me yours."
"Umm.." Is all Tasuku said, while scratching the back of his blue hair.
"Fine. Tell me later." I laid down on Jack's warm back and fell asleep.
"Don't get too attached Tasuku. We're suppose to be looking out for her."
"I know that."
"I just can't trust her,yet." Jack admitted.
Tasuku petted Jack's back.
"Thanks for looking out for me, but I'll be fine."
"Let's hope so."
Arriving at my home, I awoke and hopped off Jack when we were close to the ground.
"Thanks Tasuku, for everything."
"It's no problem, really. I'll see you tomorrow." Tasuku stepped back on Jack.
"Oh, and if you could come over during the afternoon, that'd be great. I have school and I'd really like to be there when you arrive." Tasuku began flying away on Jack, and I didn't go inside until I could no longer see him in the sky.
"Commander I, with all do respect,why are you letting a robber like her join the buddy police?" Stella questioned, holding a clipboard to her chest.
"Because I believe both have something the other needs. Tasuku's ability to trust and help others trust. And that girl, with the ability to think freely..."
"You got all of that just from looking at her?"
"That, and the way she presented herself. Her appearance and the way she handled the situation, don't exactly scream 'thief'." Commander I closed his eyes.
" I believe in her, and I'm sure Tasuku believes in her too."
