Chapter 4

I stood there for a minute, unblinking.

"Uh-um no I can get them"

I stumbled on my words, going back to grab the food. I grabbed three bags then began to walk to the house before falling on my face. I blushed deeply and stood up to keep whatever pride I had left.

"Do you really need all this?" Ed asked me, staring at it all. "I don't know, I'm not sure how thinks work here so I thought I would just stock up on food, um, just in case. The store is far away. Um. Ed can I ask you a question?"

"You just did" he replied smiling "this is kinda important. Please stop joking around. Ed how did you get here. Why did you get here?" He frowned and looked down, kicking some snow with his foot. "Listen, Taylor I-" "lets talk about it inside, Im freezing out here!" I cut him off. I wasn't sure I was ready to here what he was gonna say.

"Tea?" I offered

"Please"

I got to work making it and tried to change the subject. "Throw some wood in the fireplace, keep it warm. So, how is everything at home." "Oh it's good" he answered "the usual, Taylor we really need to talk" "NO" I said sternly. "Uh, I mean, ellory needs to go to bed first." I covered. "Come on baby, lets go to bed"
