I look out of the old, rusty, smelly bus window and sigh heavily. I see tons of forest and tress outside, but not any actual civilization. I mean that's what happens when you go to camp in the middle of Ohio. I shift my position these ugly, blue bus seats and try to get comfortable. Which would be hard to do on this cramped bus. All the seats were taken up by friends and people who've been to this camp before. I was forced to sit with a stranger because all the seats were taken. I turn to my right to see the pretty, blond girl who sat next to me while everyone was getting on the bus. Her hair is in two braids, like pigtails, coming down below her shoulders. She has on a full face of makeup, it doesn't look very natural. But it doesn't look bad. I'm not here to judge. She has on a pastel blue crop top, with the Adidas logo on it. She's pretty skinny, not full of muscle, but not overweight at all. She is wearing black jean shorts with a little bit of lace on the sides. I see a bunch of flash tattoos on her legs. She must be artsy. She is wearing tennis shoes. Nike, her shoes are purple and black. She looks at me, I've been staring too long. I quickly look away, hoping she hasn't noticed my staring. I think. She must not know anyone, like me, why else would she sit here? She hasn't even talked to me! All she has been doing is listening to her music the whole time. Some people are just so rude. I turn back and look out the window, no surprise nothing has changed. Still the same forest and the same trees and the same stupid town. Going down the same dirt road. This is so much different from New York, in the city everything was everywhere. It was completely impossible to not make a friend because people were everywhere. But here, in Ohio, I'm not sure I'll even talk to anyone for this whole three weeks I'm staying at this stupid camp. What would be a good lie to tell my parents? I did promise to write them everyday while at camp so it should sound like I'm sorta enjoying myself. This camp is pretty expensive. I turn back to the blond girl on my right. She's still listening to her music, I see her tapping her foot along with the beat. I catch a glimpse of the song she's listening too. I freeze. It's "My Shot" from Hamilton. I try to calm myself down, I'm such a fan girl about that musical. I have to start up a conversation with her about it. I tap her shoulder and she turns to me, she gives me a confused look, like I wasn't supposed to do that. I don't care. She slowly removes her headphones with that rude look on her face.

"Sorry to bother you," I start out. "But, I saw you listening to Hamilton and that's my favorite musical!" I smile. The blonde girls rude glare disappears and it is replaced with a sweet smirk and welcoming eyes.

"Yeah, I was listening, it's my favorite musical too!" She sounds excited, which is great because I am also. "My names Cassidy Evans." I smile, waiting for her to reply.

"Loren Beech is my name, because we're so formal here." She giggles, I half laugh with her, feeling embarrassed. "Please, just call me Lori. I'm not that fancy." This time we both laugh, actually. No half-laughing.

"So," I mumble out, clearing my throat. "Have you've come here before? To Camp Rively?" I ask. She then looks a little worried.

"Don't remind me, it's my first time going here, and also my first time being away from my family for more than a night." She explains. I try to comfort her.

"It's okay, I'll bet you'll be fine, I mean it's my first time going also so we can be each other allies." I joke with her. She laughs. Making both of us feel better. "So is that a deal." I ask.

"Of course, but you're sorta making this sound like the Hunger Games." She giggles and play-punches me. I laugh. We continue our conversation for a few more minutes. Talking about any topic from Hamilton to something as little as the weather outside. I catch a glimpse out the window, now this actually looks like a camp. I see cabins, and pits for I don't know what and older teenagers running with the bus.

"Lori look!" I point through the window. All the older teenagers  line up. Forming a line in front of the bus door. The bus comes to a quick stop, throwing everyone's bodies forward. I see kids running out, running through the tunnel of arms, chants, and smiles that the older kids are forming. When I finally get to run through I hear deafening "whoops" and "yeahs." It's easy to run through when your only 5'3. Everyone is so tall here. When I get to the end of the line I see a small rock next to the tree. I stand on it and see if I can find Lori. I see her laughing loudly and she appears from the line of older kids. We spot each other and smile. I motion her over to stand on the rock with me. She walks to the rock with the same smile on her face, she is eager to have some fun. She steps up on the rock, tripping a little and laughing at herself whole heartedly. We both stand on this rock, sorta shaped like a heart. And watch the crowd of people forming with more kids and teenagers. I look over to her, we both have huge smiles on our faces as we look out and see more older kids forming lines out from the doors of new buses pulling up. All of the older kids have the same sky blue shirt that in white letters says "Staff" on the back. I turn to Lori as we see the staff motioning us over after all the buses have empty, it's looks like we're going to be in a group huddle or something like that. Theirs no turning back now, I'm stuck here for three weeks. It's my choice to make it a positive or negative experience.

"You ready" I ask her. She smiles confidently.

"Let's do this." She responds with her hand in the air. We high five.

"God, wish us luck." I say out loud we both laugh and step down from the rock and we walk towards the crowd. Hoping to have the time of our lives here.

A U T H O R S N O T E
Hey guys! So that's the first chapter. I just wanted to say I've never written a fictional story like this before and theirs probably errors everywhere so I apologize. Now you will be introduced to Zach Clayton and Mark Thomas in another chapter. Now the characters that I've created in my head might not match the personalities of Zach, Mark, or Loren. Because, you see, I don't know them. They sorta just faces I needed for the characters. Over all thank you guys for reading and I hope you enjoy this story.
