Chapter One

July 3rd 2001 a miracle was born, also known as me.

Camdyn Grace Scott is the name I was given and I was the last child to be born to Chloe and Collin Scott. I have three older brothers named Cole, Carter and Chase. By now you have probably noticed that my parents decided to start all their children's names with the letter 'C'. Don't ask me why, they're just a crazy duo.

Next, there are my best friends. There are three of them and they cause trouble wherever they go. Since preschool Elliot James Bradley, Paisley Lauren Johansson, Ashton Michael Anderson and I have been inseparable. These crazy humans are what make my life interesting because without them I would never come out of my shell.

Let's get one thing straight before I start the rollercoaster that is my life: Our story may be beyond cliché and you will probably make a sassy remark like "I've already heard this before" or "it's obvious what happens" or even "Why am I reading about this girls' life who I have never met before and I probably already know what's going to happen so I'm going to judge every decision that she makes." If you are the last one, just stop reading right now because this story will probably bring up this thought more than once. This is our story and that's what matters and if you don't like it, then it sucks to be you.

Anyway, fourteen years after my mom's twenty-two-hour labor I'm still alive. You can decide if that's good or bad. This is the birthday before the most confusing four years of my life. Yes, I do mean high school and if you understand the torture that is grades 9-12, well, you know what's about to occur.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to Cammie! Happy Birthday to you!" A wish flashed through my mind as I quickly blow out the fourteen candles and smile up at my family and best friends.

"Congratulations Cam! You're no longer a tiny thirteen-year-old!" Ashton announces. I roll my eyes, still with a smile on my face and tell him to shut up.

" That hurt Cammie, really" Ash says dramatically holding his hand to his heart.

"I am so sorry Ash!" I continue the dramatics by getting on my knees and holding his hands. "I beg for your forgiveness!"

"You hurt me Cammie, I just, I don't know if I could forgive you this time" he replies looking away in fake sadness.

" What if I give you an extra-large slice of birthday cake?"

"Deal!" he says happily, smiling like a little kid. A quick ruffle of his hair flipped the room upside down.

"Put me down!" I laugh.

"Nope" Ashton says.

"I hate you, Ashton Michael" I pout. I got no response from the idiot but from previous experiences I know exactly where he's going. Of course I have an excuse to keep me from getting my birthday outfit wet.

"I'M ON MY PERIOD!" I yell to him.

"No you're not"

"How would you know?"

"Last week you made me ride my bike to the store and get you chocolate ice cream because you were craving it." I sense the roll of his eyes.

"And it was melted when you got back"

"It was a twenty-minute bike ride in ninety-eight-degree weather!"

"Okay, point taken. Love you Ashie" I laugh as he puts me down.

"Sure you do" A smile is placed on his face and it doesn't leave even after I turn and push him into the pool and dash for the inside of my house.

"I'll get you back Camdyn Grace!"
