Next morning Nandini had to leave early so she gets up at 6.30, freshens up and prepares breakfast for and Manik. Around 8.00 AM, she packs the food for him, goes to his apartment and knocks the door.
Manik was working out when he hears the doorbell ring. He opens the door and couldn't believe that Nandini was all ready before him.
"Good morning Manik!" She was so happy this morning. She herself was unaware of the reason. "Good morning Nandu..aaj ithni jaldhi.. I am surprised!" He teased her.
"Manik stop teasing me okay! Today I have lots of work. Need to help with the ball preparations and at 1.30 come to the auditorium for practice. Now don't tell me anything I am not gonna listen.. I know you are free at 1.30 and that's why I fixed that time for us" she said setting the breakfast on the table.
"Okay madam ... As you say" he bowed at her.
"Okay I am leaving now. See you soon" she smiled and was about to go when Manik pulled her back. As it was a sudden move she collided with his chest.
"Manik" she was trying to speak. He hands over a small box to her. She takes it from his hands and once she opens she was stunned to see an elegant music tie and stone hung simple bracelet.

"Manik This is so pretty! Is this for me?" She asked him surprised. Manik thought of teasing for some time.
"No Nandu..its for Alice.. You know I really feel she's one in a million and that's why I wrote those lines..you are her best friend right .. So tell me will she like this?" He asked her. By now Nandu has lost her calm.
"Ya why won't she like it..Tum patthar dhoge toh bhi she'll accept. Now let me go I am late. I will see you at 1.30 don't be late" she said and walked away.
After she left, Manik burst into laughter. "How cute she is. How can she think I will gift this to Alice..awww poor Nandu ko bura lagaa I should not have done it..! Now how do I convince her!!!??"he was talking to himself.
His phone beeps. There was a message from the basketball team asking hm to join for practice. He replies them that he will be there in 15 minutes. After freshening up he has breakfast Nandu brought and leaves for practice around 9 AM.
It was pretty easy for Manik to win the game. Everyone in the team appreciated him for his play. After long one hour practice Manik changes and goes to the library to spend sometime as there are 3 more hours to meet Nandini. He was thinking how to make it up.
He grabs a piece of paper and starts writing..
Nandini! Thank you for making me your best friend...you make me smile even if you are not around me...I am extremely sorry to hurt you! Please accept this and make it more beautiful by putting it on your wrist. This is really special and so are you. YOU truly are one in a million. 💛
