The main character Giselle has a near death experience, having a weak heart and lung cancer. When she is young at heart, she believes that there is a cure to her illness, but unfortunately, her hopes and wishes are not true. When having a heart palpitation at the time when she got thrown off the building terrace by her ex, Giselle is saved, but her trust damaged.
Although Giselle had crowds of men trying to woo her, she refuses them and believes that all there is to men is looks. In her rich mansion at her home, she bought beautiful chandeliers with crystals dangling down. Every day she would remain alone, she would shatter a crystal.
There was only one gem left on her chandelier, and that was the diamond. Giselle almost had given up on life, when there was a new transfer to her school. The boy called Luke. When another rich guy called Javier declares for her to start dating him, she wants to refuse, but his father was a politician and could send his acquaintances to kidnap her.
So Giselle started dating Javier, but she secretly loved Luke. And at last she confessed to him, and he accepted her feelings. The couple wanted to date, but they knew Javier would take hold of the situation and held back for the sake of themselves. But at last, Javier discovered the truth. Being the cruel self that he is, he forced Giselle to break up with Luke.
Overwhelmed by the news, Giselle had a heart palpitation and gets rushed into hospital. The doctor confirmed that Giselle needed to take therapy, but she was fine. After Giselle comes back out of hospital, Javier had worse plans ahead of her.
The night that Luke had arranged a date to go on with her, Javier made her stay at home and embarrassed her in front of her family. The day that Luke and Giselle were supposed to do a project together, Javier locked her house doors. Things went on until Luke angrily confronted Giselle, she had nothing to say as Javier threatened her life.
Luke again, was livid. So he broke up with her and left her. Giselle wanted to win him back, but nothing worked. She forced it down and tried to think of hope. But all was lost inside of her when she got the word of Luke dating her arch-enemy, Rachel Arachne. She was in the school hallways when Javier broke the news to her.
She realized that no one had actually brought their real love to care for her anymore, and another fatal attack struck and she fell unconscious in the halls. Javier walked away and left her there. When her best friend Garroth saw her lying near the edge of the school, he freaked out and quickly called for an ambulance.
Giselle was once again rushed to hospital, but her conditions had worsened and her organs were breaking down. Due to her recent heart palpitation, her health decreased and her heartbeat was going down. She was going to be dead.
